I have been using "windows live one care safety center" it is free and will clean your computer and tune it as well, if you do not clean your computer at regular intervals this will take a couple of hours, but I find it works well. It cleans your registry, checks for viruses, defrags and checks your ports.

Maybe you use CCleaner ...its free and cleans more than your registry..
