These past months ive been very lonely. For some reason most of my so called friends have stopped talking to me and even my family seems distant. I have no clue why its happening I did nothing from the different....And im not in any realtionship but i want to be..I see lots of happy couples dating and I think about how much I want that. Ive tried dating guys that the few friends I have left try to hook me up with but it ends up being a total disaster. I dont think im that bad looking and Im a fun person so why cant I find that guy thats worth sharing a realtionship with? And why is my family and friends so distant?

The time you are experiencing is painful. I've been through it and now take anti-depressants. They seem to help some. You will find a guy, it's just a matter of putting yourself in the right position to find him. If you have a hobby, try joining a club in your area. The main thing is try not to let yourself be lulled into constantly staying at home. Force yourself to get dressed up and go out, even if its just for a walk through the neighborhood. Your question really hit a nerve with me and I feel the pain you are feeling. My depression doesn't come from lack of a mate, I've been married 26 years. I just don't seem to have any interest in the things I once so enjoyed. The thing that helps the most is to talk. Even with someone you don't even know. I have met many wonderful people here on Y/A and continue e-mailing on an almost daily basis. It has really helped. Lastly, talk to your doctor. He/She can diagnose whether or not you have depression. You don't have to continue to feel this way. Good Luck and you will be in my prayers.

Cheer up! It may seem bad now, but none of us know what hand we have yet to be dealt in life. If you focus on something negative, like being lonely you tend to pull everything else down around you. I suppose the best advise is try to find the good in every situation, You have your whole life ahead of you, & remember good things do happen to good people.

you need to find someone that you fully trust to tell you what is going on. And when you hear it, don't get defensive, listen and learn from it and make the change. Maybe you are very cynical or negative, maybe you belittle people, maybe you are a slob. Lots of reasons people would not want to be around you but someone has to tell you so you have to ask and you have to listen.

I agree....when you focus on the positives and radiate this joyous countenance, things just seem to go wayy better. Don't know why that is.
Good luck!
