Jospeh was a good guy and much older than Mary. He forgave her for having a good time wit Gabriel and raised the kid as his own.

Go see the movie The Nativity Story. They portray Joseph's reaction very well.

Joseph was hurt, confused, and maybe a bit pissed. He intended to divorce Mary quietly, but then he received a message from an angle that convinced him to accept Mary and the child.

Yeah actually he was. He was going to divorce her, albeit quietly because he was a decent man.

Matthew:
Before they had sex.
1:18
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit.

The part where he was going to divorce her.
1:19
And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her, planned to send her away secretly.

When he found out about the child's origin
1:20
But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

Yes, he was. The Bible says so. In those days an engagement was just as binding as marriage. Joseph was very upset and wanted to get out of the arrangement. But he believed God, married Mary and brought great blessings to the world. Joseph was a great man of faith.

Lol. Great question. I would imagine he would have been slightly upset about that, but I believe that Joseph and Mary only became married after Mary was impregnated by god. But hey, I'm a Buddhist so I might be wrong.

Quite Possibly at first....but can you imagine the excitement after the angel told him what was to happen...

Matthew 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

1:22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

1:24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

1:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
