Ignorance of the Arabic and Persian culture is the root of the problem. In addition some Christian leaders, well aware of the fact that the coming of Muhammad was announced in the Bible, try to scare away their followers from any contacts with muslims. Islam is growing faster than Christianity, and they fear they would loose support.

I'm a Christian who respects a woman's right to wear a head scarf and I think you'll find most agree with that (though there seems to be more of an issue with it in Europe than in the US). Heck, many Christian sects require women to have their heads covered (such as Mennonite and Amish).
The problem comes in situations where a person's face is obscured when identification of an individual is necessary (such as in an airport or in a traffic stop or crossing a country's border).

There is a perception that it is forced on them by men. Or more recently it tends to be read as an 'in your face' gesture of defiance, equivalent to the bible bashers' constant shoving of their religion down one's throat. Personally, I think they can wear whatever they like.
What I don't like is the disdainful looks and remarks I have heard such women direct at women who DON'T wear a headscarf. That's equally arrogant and wrong.

Is it because those who support it make no sense? Did you read your question back?
It is a symbol of female subjugation. It proclaims that she is not as good as a man, which is tripe. To Muslims, women are property and so are kept in purdah with the ridiculous dress codes. Maybe if the Islamic faith progressed into the twenty first century with the rest of us it would improve the status of women and gain more respect.

^ Oh yeah, like wearing a headscarf is going to save you from a rapist!
Are Moslem men are so lacking in self-control that the sight of a woman's hair pushes them over the edge?

Hate is not a "Christian" belief, it's a "person' belief. While there are people who claim to be Christian who hate others, it's not the Christian way... it's the fallen way.
And yes, I am guilty of hate at times. It's a bad thing. But it's not Christian.

It's not a Christian way. People that give you bad looks or yell at you are just cruel, rude human beings. It doesn't have anything to do with religion.

It is unfair to say all Christians do this. This is not true. You cannot lump everyone together. But most of all nobody is perfect. Christians are the first to admit they are sinners.

I'm not a Christian but I can answer it from my perspective.
I don't like it because it feels like they're hiding something by covering themselves. Its the same reason I don't like hats or beards.
