Want to know how I became fluent in speaking, (I am not fluent in writing) I lived in Pheonix for three years. Took two years in high school, and two in college.

To learn it over the internet you are going to have to get a program. Spanish for Dummies works well.

¿De todas formas, por qué incomodidad? ¡Usted puede utilizar un traductor!

Just kidding. Good luck! You may want to add German to that. The languages you will use most!

The Rosetta Stone is great! I have used it on 3 languages.

I don't want to inflict injury to your question, but the first language I learned was Spanish. My job moved me to Mexico, and there was only one person in the factory that spoke English. After about three days of hanging on his shirt tail, we were out partying. Some of his friends spoke English, and I kept asking them to translate. Finally, Jose told them to stop translating for me, "or the dumb gringo will never learn our language!" From that point on, Jose would only help with a specific word. In 3 months I didn't have any problems. I became so efficient, people told me I sounded like a Mexican, no accent at all!

I even got to the point of thinking and dreaming in other languages.

Try the Pimsleur audio method on CD -- a good starter that will take you through 90 lessons with no reading.

Should get you on the road to basic Spanish fluency, at least verbally.
