You could try a product called 'Quiet life'. Herbal tablets sold in most health food shops (Holland & Barret etc) they used to work for me pretty well.
Kalms are similar, but work better if you take them a couple of times during the day to de-stress, as well as at night.
Both are good, natural, and have no side effects. Good luck

All of the OTC sleeping medications are addictive. It is also ill advised to take something like Tylenol PM that will treat pain, which you don't have, and insomnia. Valerian Root is natural and is indicated, among other things, to aid in a restful nights sleep. Give it a try. Also, and I'm sure you know this, but it can't be said enough: Do not drink caffeine or alcohol before bed, it is also best to not eat before bed. If you prefer to read before bed or watch tv, it is better to do so in another room, and associating these activities with your bedroom can keep you awake at night. Best of luck.

Valerian is a good herbal product for aiding sleep easpecially if used alongside lemonbalm. Some self help techniques can be helpfiul. Avoid anything stimulating like watching television or drinking hot drinks for at least an hour before bedtime. Also when the body is in the mood for sleep the bodies core temperature drops by half a degree. When laying in bed, imagine your hands of feet warming up. After a few goes at this you will actually notice them feeling warm. This then radiates the core temperature away from the body, therefore bringing on sleepiness.

Nytol is all they sell over the counter in Boots, its OK at first but it soon wears off by about the third night of continuous use, it did for me anyway.
If you want something stronger you'll need to see your doctor although they apparantly don't give out drugs that quickly and will probably recommend exercise and things which do work but its too much like hard work. You could always buy some valium, search the net, there are plenty of American companies that will sell products for it.

Chamomile tea is the best!! There is also an herbal tea by Celestial Seasonings called Sleepytime tea that helps you sleep. Also, if you can't sleep, make sure you get enough exercise during the day. Those things always help me out. Good luck!

generic Benadryl aka dyphenhydramine. 100 caps cost about 4.00. Take 25 or 50mg (usually one or two capsules) right when you lay down to actually try to go to sleep. Don't mix with alcohol. Don't take more than 50mg total dosage. Dyphenhydramine is the portion of Tylenol PM that makes people sleepy but there is no need to take Tylenol to achieve sleepiness.

Chamomile tea! Or you can buy inositol, it's a B-vitamin but it actually tastes pretty sweet. Just take a teaspoon or two a little while before you go to bed. Warm milk and turkey also contain tryptophan, which can help you go to sleep.
