Does anyone have any thoughts on why we only have one story of Him as a boy?

I think it is like the birth. His life and death, then resurrection are more important.

A lot of people have been asking that for a long time, so much that it started a lot of research. Come to find out as a boy Jesus was not the nice man he turned out to be as he was older he was actually using his gifts for wrong purposes, so when rewriting the Bible the Catholic church decided to leave the stories of his childhood out. not until recent years are they starting to pop back up. And of course what do they say?? Even Jesus had to struggle with temptations.

Well, it makes sense to cut out all the insignificant stuff in one's childhood. The point of the Gospels is God's news, not Jesus' first haircut. It's a simple matter of relevance. I think it's safe to assume that Jesus had a pretty typical childhood for His day and that the Gospels omit stories that don't pertain to God because that's not what matters. Granted, I'd like to know what Jesus was like as a six-year-old too, but as far as God and salvation, it just doesn't matter.

Actually, there are a few stories of him in the Book of Thomas, but this was not put into the mainstream Bible. It is still considered a holy text by a small group, but was not included because it showed Jesus as a punk brat as a child.

There are many theories on this. The years between 12 and 30 for Jesus are referred to by many as the "lost years". Some believe that he traveled to India and learned the teachings of Buddha as his teachings were very similar in nature. Try researching the lost years of Jesus, there is so much information and theory out there on this.

Because he grew up to be a man, & too many still looks at him as a little boy in a manger, & then you have some just look at him hanging on the cross, & then you have some that look at him being crucified, & then you have some looking at him as only being raised from the dead. But I look at Jesus as a baby, then growing up, Then crucified, Then buried, Then rose again & THEN ASCENDED into heaven & sitting on THE throne in heaven as our mediator. And soon to be our King

Most of the story of Jesus was taken from previous stories about Gods. So there was probably no information.

You want to hear the story of a carpenter growing up. Ya sounds like a great story to me. It hink the feeding 5000 story is much better.

Well, he was probably a disgustingly normal young lad who enjoyed pissing off and shenanigans as much as the rest of us in our youth. That is not good publicity for the buisness of keeping Jesus Holy for the Catholics and various Christian sects.

I believe Jesus started his ministry at the age of 30... before this time, especially in his childhood, he was just a boy growing up... like who was going to take their time to document all that? remember people didn't believe he was the messiah.

Also, I don't believe his childhood is significant. Its his birth, ministry and death.

That would make him appear too mortal. Cant be having your God look too mortal ya know....

Some of the original Gospels that were removed had stories of Jesus as a boy. He would turn bullies into Goats and once got busted making a piece of wood that Joseph was crafting magically grow back to the original length. These stories made Jesus appear too human like, so they were removed. Cant have God acting like a kid!
