NO - sauna will not sweat off weight. And the best to stay in sauna is about 10 mins, longer than that will be too hot and dehydrating your body. Remember to bring a bottle of water when u go sauna!

You can use a sauna to detox, too. You really shouldn't stay in it more than 20-30 minutes a day. You should also be sure to drink lots of water before, during, and after. You should drink half of your body wieght in ounces a day anyway, and if you are going to be sweating alot it should be more. You don't want to get dehydrated. Your body needs water. Far infared saunas are a better pick than regular saunas. The infared has alot of properties that the good rays of the sun have.

Depends on if it's a wet sauna or a dry heat sauna. You can stay in a wet sauna for quite a while without to much trouble. The dry sauna's are a lot different. They dehydrate you real fast.I knew a guy that went into one with a plastic suit on and they carried him out in under 10 minutes unconscious. If your going in for the first time I'd suggest no more than three or four minutes followed by a cool shower. Then work your way up from there.

No, the purpose of a sauna is NOT to sweat off weight, but to cleanse your pores and skin. The only thing that happens is you lose water and as most people do not drink enough water, best to rehydrate yourself often. The length of time that it is safe to stay in a sauna will depend on any medical conditions you may have such as asthma or a heart condition. Check with your doc!

you will only lose water weight in a sauna, aside from the added calories it takes to keep body temperature down.
The real purpose is to purge the skin of impurities, dirt, and oil and for the therapeutic feeling of relaxation experienced inside a hot, steamy room.
That, of course, are the benefits to being in a sauna by yourself.
When your with someone, the benefits change.

You don't sauna to lose weight, it's just water and you put it right back on. You do it to relax and clean out your pores. Don't fall asleep in there, but you can stay in as long as you can stand it. You've never felt so relaxed and clean.
