How to make a bootable CD with a disk erasure program?

I want to wipe a computer before giving it away but I am having problems booting up the OS at present. So I want to create a bootable CD and put on it a program that will wipe the hard drive entirely. Can anyone point to a procedure for this?

Here's a link for a great disk wiping utility. It's explained there so I won't go into it. Use with caution, it's bootable as you want and can nuke a good system, make sure it's labeled clearly.
