Well I'll try to respond to some of the answers to your Q.

Why they are trying to undermined the others intelligence ? why it is not for good reason they have changed their believe and you do not need to be a professor to understand Islam, which has been directed to the bedwin in the desert and the professor in the college.
It must be for a valid reason and genuine satisfaction they have converted to Islam.

Maybe they have found the truth thing about Islam..
You know the fight against Islam that we can seen nowadays eventually attracted people to learn more about this religion...
The rumours about Islam is a terrorist just make people want to know whether is it true or not...because u know there were no religion that asked its believer to make other religion as enemy..
Thats impossible, religion is about a peace..
And people in the jails that convert to Islam discover that it was just a rumours...

First show the link to the study, second almost by definition the prison population does not consist of the sharpest tools in the shed, them converting to a particular religion doesn't say all that much for that religion. Now if 200,000 college professors had converted then that would be something.

well the fact that the jails are overan with gangs is true so i think there is ethier the nation of Islam or the arian brotherhood. islam does not allow sexual contact between men and if they find you were doing things with men they kick you out . as for the arian brotherhood im not sure .

Even better question is why even with all the conversions to Islam are the disproportionately large percentage of people in prison christian.
Or how about why a disproportionately small percentage of people in prison atheist.

Hmm, well...
Since about 80% of convicted felons in the US identify themselves as "christian" upon entry to prison, perhaps they're realizing that their christian philosophy didn't do them any good (or they wouldn't be in prison), so they're trying something else?
It could also be for plain-old survival reasons...you HAVE to be part of some larger group in prison, or you're dead meat. Muslims in prison look out for each other -- sounds like a good reason to join, even if your heart isn't in it :)

Its one way of being supported and protected in Jail, a lot of things happen in Jail, besides, anger gets a better label, fighting for religion. and many can get a validity for their actions, Some additcts get another reason to be additcted, But there are many who really get meaning and out of bad culture, and helps them to fall in structure.

Islam is based on a victim mentality. Convicts often see themselves as a victim of the system and society. Easy sale.

God doesn't work in numbers. Maybe you should look at Israel's history if you don't believe that.
