Do you think that asking this question is a good example of Christian love?
Silly question. This is a free country, and for many, Christmas has become an American tradition rather than a religious holiday. Celebrate it how you wish, and leave others alone.

Yes, a true Christian celebrates this holiday for the sole purpose of worshiping Jesus birth. And they stay focused on the religious aspect of Christmas.
Non-Believers celebrate the holiday with other things: Like Santa Clause, Roudolph, spending sprees, etc. etc...
So maybe everyone celebrates the holiday as they see fit, and this is America where we have freedom of choice

Oh my Goddess! A narrow-minded Christian posting bigoted questions directed at Non-Christians in the Y/A! R&S section? I can't BELIEVE it!
Trust me, I would much rather NOT celebrate Christmas and get stuck bowing my head in prayer out of respect for my mother when she says grace at the dinner table, or singing countless Christmas carols at my boyfriend's family gathering that hail the birth of Jesus, but I am severely outnumbered and don't want to be rude like you.

1) Christmas is a pagan not a Christian holiday - maybe your question would be better stated "Do you think non-pagans should be allowed to celebrate Christmas"
2) Non-Christians have their own festivals and don't need to celebrate Christmas

What do you mean be allowed? Does someone own Christmas now? Technically, Christmas is a Pagan holiday, adopted by Christians. Geez. And people wonder why religious nuts are called elitists and closed minded.

How do you plan to stop them? If all the non-Christians stopped celebrating Christmas, then our economy would go bankrupt, as well as the economies of many third-world nations. Most of the people who call themselves Christians are not---they are something else, but they are not Christians.

I don't celebrate Xmas - I celebrate the Winter Solstice. Your religion just happened to decide to hold one of its festivals at the same time as mine.
Most people don't have a religious Xmas anyway - it's all food, drink, and presents - much more akin to the pagan traditions.
But we're happy for you to go sit in your churches while we have a good time.

Tell me, do you think that Christians should be allowed to celebrate the birthday of Mithras? He was also born of a virgin on Dec. 25.

I think that depends -- are you willing to stop saying "Merry Christmas" to every soul who walks through Walmart?
Perhaps we could all change to "Happy Winter Holiday!" so that we wouldn't offend anyone. Unless you REALLY want to wish me "Happy Winter Solstice" or "Joyous Yule!" Either one would be great.
Are you willing to change your holiday colors? We want our fertilitie rites back!! Green and Red were ours LONG before the Christians came along.
Are you willing to give us back the christmas tree? It was our fertilite symbol long ago!! Heck-- do you even ACKNOWLEDGE that you're sticking a phalic symbol up in your house??
If you REALLY want to celebrate non-christians from Christimas, you've got to be prepared to make a change to your christmas....since you stole that from us and Jesus was really born in the middle of April.
