I know a therapist personally, and I know for a fact that he cares deeply for all of his clients.
But sadly I can't say the same for all therapists. It really depends on the person; how caring he is, his personality, his training, and such factors to determine how good or bad, caring or uncaring a therapist is.
Also take into consideration that it would be hard to be completely emotionally involved in your work without messing up your own life a bit.

They definitely care, otherwise they wouldn't get into the field of psychology. In order to become a therapist, you have to go to school for years and do a lot of hard work. If they were only interested in the money, they would choose a different career.
