My mother widowed mother lives here in India -where we too live with our two teens. As the eldest son - the onus fell on me to take care of her. I have tried to convince her to sell all assets and move to either UK, Spain, Aust. or The US,where my brother and sister reside respectively. She, is adamant about living in India.She is very sentimental about the house as my Dad built it with a lot of grit and hurdles. Things at that time the financial situation was at its lowest ebb.Things got better as we grew up.The problem is my wife and I are not comfortable living in India. I am proud of India& being an Indian but having lived so many years abroad my thinking has changed and hard as I try I cant seem to adjust with the red tape, corruption here& am sorry to say we cant even speak our langauge Hindi. I cant leave my mother alone and return to Europe? I have a fantastic job with one of the most reputed Companies in the world and can posted to Spain. Any suggestions?

I would also like to add that I am very close to my mother and cannot leave her alone. I have my house and other assets all in Europe and had never imagined of coming back and having to stay back for the sake of my mum. My sons too are in the same boat as they do not look Indian and cannot speak Hindi either. They get some strange looks just the way my wife and I do. Almost always when I have to travel withen the country by air I am asked to produce my passport and pay a price much higher for my ticket. My Company is more then willing to send me back to Spain on a very senior level. This is really frustration and any ideas would be very welcome. I would appreciate serious answers.

If your mother doesn't mind being alone in her homeland and if it isn't taboo, let her continue to live in her home that her husband built for them to grow old in and you can still care for her by making sure she is in need of nothing and your company can let you make several trips a year to make sure she is OK by visiting while on a business trip. I'm not sure if this is something you can do but Americans do it all the time. LOL Well usually Americans put their parents in a nursing home and forget about them so you go boy!!

On our deathbeds we too long for familiar grounds and faces to comfort us and assure us that we have been loved, and that we have lived a rooted life.It is only instinctive and natural, so allow your mother to stay back if she wants to so much, why deny her this right of hers, to die in dignity and with peace. Who knows you too one day might feel the same.

Whats existence without cricket!!!?? As a cricket fan i think of cricket is the main interesting element we get in India.i might fee it earlier than ur reported movies or the rest. and that i think of the foremost reason for the intense recognition of cricket in India is that no different activities have been waiting to make an result on our voters like cricket.human beings here r very captivated with cricket,they consume cricket,drink cricket,talk cricket & sleep cricket. and all of us residing in India could stick to cricket.people who r not interested in cricket now and back relatively will sense not quite much as good as cricket fanatics for lacking something the finished u . s . a . is so loopy approximately.i've got seen many such examples.and actually some human beings not interested in cricket initiate watching cricket merely because of the fact they might desire to be like eveyrone else,desire to stick to what all of us follows in the country. And u can not advance ur passions in direction of the sport merely via watching the interest for a million hour or a million adventure or so.I agree for some human beings it could be uninteresting for first time.yet in easy terms whilst u dig deeper & deeper can u understand how attractive this game is.which could take relatively some time & might regularly rely on ur pastimes.

Sorry to hear that. Take your mother with you and force your daughter to come, but do not sell the house, keep it for a vacation home.
