I never get a flu shot. I got the flu this past year & lived. Use common sense. You can get the flu shot & pray or not get the flu shot & pray. Neither one cancels out the other.

A great prophet once said: "First tie up your camel, then put you're faith in God". I suggest both.

p.s. I'm not really sure what that means. But since some people take the shot and still get the flu, and vice versa, why not do both to even the odds?

Ask Jim Henson how praying to get better worked.

Asking God to keep you from getting the flu is like asking him to give you money. He already provided the means for these things (with the money he gave us the ability to work, with the flu he gave us smart doctors who make medicine).

God helps us before we even ask most of the time. Remember, a doctor may have made the medicine...but who made the doctor?

Friend, I believe in prayer, & I know God answers prayers, But don't you think God gave us Humans a little CS(common sense) That is the same as asking, do I need to drink water today or do I need to eat today, Because if we pray, God will fill us up with natural water & natural food, Therefore, we have no use for our mouths except to gossip. So then why should we eat today, just pray, & why do we eat today, tomorrow we will be hungry again. Why do we go to a shopping mall to buy a pair of shoes, Just pray, & God will give you a brand new pair of sneakers. Now do you see where I m coming from.

I do not get the flu shot because my father has had an allergic reaction to it which means I could too and I would rather get the disease than deal with the ramifications of the cure.

And instead of eating, you should just pray for food to appear in your stomach.
And instead of turning on your computer, you should just pray that it starts.
And instead of paying your bills, you should just pray that your rent is forgiven.

God gave sanitation laws in the Bible because we have a responsibility to do the things needed to keep yourself healthy, which includes (according to scripture) to eat right and exerecise. Jesus also said that the sick have need of a physician. So under "the rules" set up by God, it is OK to get flu shots etc to protect our health. But should they fail, we have the added extra of prayer for healing.

Getting the flu is good for the immune system, which is why they are giving you the flu with the flu shot. It is how God designed the immune system.

One thing I have confirmed is this, during the summer months I drink a lot of water. During the winter months I do not. So last winter I decided that I would continue my intake of water. Guess what? I did not get sick at all. I think the water is purifying. I am doing the same thing this year. In conclusion, let me add that I do not believe that prayers ever go unheard and they certainly,( in my opinion) do not hurt. I have found prayer to be a very powerful thing.

No because the flu is part of God's plan and he has already decided who shall receive the flu as punishment for some future sin they haven't committed yet.

Seriously though, there is no God.
