I am looking to find a group that my puppy and I can play with. He is 8 months old so I want to keep him used to being around other people and dogs.

try www.meetup.com . I found a group for English Bulldogs there.

Try looking at terrier.com. Its the Jack Russell Terrier Club of America (JRTCA) website. Many local affiliate groups post play dates there. The JRTCA people are very nice and helpful.
As a mom to three of the JRT beasties I can tell you that you do want to get your pup socialized as much as possible. Try looking into some group obedience classes too.
