First: Go to your specific school and visit a guidance counselor and a financial aide counselor.

You have many options. There is not one full answer to your question.
Cost is based on what state you are in, your age, your residency status, your income, family income, number of dependents etc.

You may qualify for government grants, You may be surprised. Some only cover tuition, some cover tuition as well as give you extra money to cover rent and books and other costs.

apply at. http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/index.htm
or pick up an app at your student financial aid office.

EVEN IF YOU DO NOT THINK YOU QUALIFY, APPLY, YOU MAY BE SURPRISED THAT YOU DO.

even if you do not qualify for money, you may qualify for reduced fees or even qualify for a student job on campus.

There are also many outside scholarships to look for, your school should have a brochure of these updated each year.

Each school, state and county has programs to help cover some tuition costs or the cost for books and supplies.

YOur financial aid office has all this info available for you.

Your employer may pay tuition costs.

Good luck.

Well it take between 2 and 4 years

LPN 2 years and RN 4 years,

I am not sure how old you are, and your life situation but my sister went to school, for nursing so far its been 2 years and she has 2 more to go, she works and doesn't make much money , I think its been about 2 thousand including everything or less.

You should apply for tuitin assistance, or TAP, go to see a guidance counselor at the college for help. Also old highschool GC's will usually help out,

If you are still in highschool, then the school will help you to fill everything out ect...

Please email me directly if you want to have a more indepth Conversation about this.

I would like to state for the record, MY FAMILY, MY SISTER, EVERYONE, is broke, so if she could do it so can you,

And do not be afraid of student loans, you can pay those back after you finish school , but you need to stay in school in order for the loans to stay deferred

Kovasmomma@yahoo.Com

You have hundreds of options, college is a possibility, and
FYI in NEW YORK you can start at 45 thousand dollars per year plus benefits.

Again it all depends on your specific situation. ect..

Email me to talk ok
Good luck and Congratulations.!!

Your answer will depend on the school you attend and the state it's in. In some states, you might go for an LPN (licensed practical nurse) or CPN (certified practical nurse) position first, then go on to become an RN (registered nurse) which pays more. In some states you can become an RN with a two year program. In other states, it requires a BS degree.

If you are in high school, make an appointment with the guidance counselor. They can not only give you more information about the program, they can help you choose classes in high school that will increase your chances in getting into the program you want. Some schools have waiting lists to get into the programs.

Good luck.

Becoming an RN can take 2-4 years going to school fulltime. Money is a different story. First check into pell grants, a federal program based on income and need. As far as your cost, it depends on the cost of the school, also add in the cost of books (usually $500 to 700 a semester.) sometimes you can get lucky and get used books. you may also need to add in daycare.
The local community college here costs about $6,000 a year. Good luck!

It takes four years to become a registered nurse. And you can get financial aid.My friend that is getting in that same career said that some hospitals will pay your way if you agree to work for a them for a certain amount time cause it is in such demand. You should speak to career councilor about that or call the human resource department in the hospitals.

I did LPN course at a private college, the total cost was around 17,000 dollars but i got financial aid. I have to repay a little over 9,000. The program itself was 12 months, but it took about 14 months before i actually had my license in my hand. Good Luck.
