♥ ♥you get that way by eating more calories than you expend, genetics do play some part in it as well as some mental ideas ♥ ♥

Since I am a fattie, lol, I can answer this one. It all has to do with calories. Each body depending on genes and physical activity needs so many calories to maintain a certain body weight. Now when you eat food with fat calories, say 100 calories with 10 fat calories, then the fat calories go STRAIGHT to the fat. Any excess calories that you do not use will go to fat. Subsequently, your body will then get the fat for calories if you are under your daily caloric intake. That is how you lose weight. Keep the calorie intake lower than what your body needs to maintain its present body weight. So you can eat all the Non-fat food you want, but if the total calories go over what you require to maintain a certain weight, then excess calories go to fat. Diet drinks with 0 calories, you will not gain weight per se. You just have to watch the sodium which if you drink enough can make you retain water in your body.

You have to watch what kinds of fat you are eating. Staying away from fried foods and over processed snacks is a good way to cut out a lot of the calories that contribute to obesity. The "fat fee, sugar free" diet products of the world don't work long term..that is why they are such big sellers. They trick your body into thinking it is getting nourishment, and when it finds that it isn't these foods actually work against your metabolism. Your body thinks it is being starved and slows down to conserve fuel, which means when you stop the diet you gain the weight back twice as fast. Eat fresh foods, stay away from the sweets, and limit grease. Reward yourself once in awhile, and increase your activity...start walking.

you get fat by taking in more calories than your body burns off calories really mean energy they are a scale a way to keep track by numbers you should burn more calories than you take in food is fuel calories you can always compare the food you eat in calories with the exercise you do and how calories are burned during it diet soda will not get you fat but is poor choice as a drink water is best and if you are fat you can lose weight by drinking ten glasses a day

Unless you truly have a glandular problem, the equation is quite simple. You get fat by taking in more calories that your body consumes. These excess calories are stored in the body as fat. While it is true that some foods are converted to fat more readily, the bottom line is that to avoid being fat you simply need to avoid overeating, eat the right foods (i.e. a balanced diet rather than high fat, high sugar, low nutritional value foods), and exercise to encourage your body to turn the intake into energy rather than storing it as fat.

Me, personally? I overeat, eat the wrong things and sit around too much.
It's pretty much the same with everyone, although we'd like it to be more mysterious than that. If it were, there would be easier and more varied responses to what to do about it.
It basically comes down to that you need to take in a certain number of calories to live (fuel for the furnace). If you take in just the right amount for your activity level, your weight will maintain. If you take in less than that and are more active you will lose weight. If you take in more than that and are sedentary, you will gain weight. It's jazzed up a bit by what type of food the calories come from, but there's no need to make it complicated. It's not.
If we would all eat to live instead of living to eat, we'd be fit, not fat.

Excessive eating and lack of exercise will make you gain weight, then you should be 'fat' conclusively. Fat is slang though, 'overweight' is probably more appropriate a word.

Diet drinks and foods will still help you get heavier, but it won't come as easily as if you were just consuming non-diet foods.

Hope this helps!

amount of calories you consume per day is > (greater than)amount you burn per day.

Sometimes genetics plays a factor because if you geneticially have a slow metabolism, you will pack on the pounds faster than someone with a normal or fast metabolism.

Diet coke can still make you gain weight. It still has sugar, although less than regular coke. Try flavored water- yum!

Eating too much and not being active, however, some people are more predisposed to be overweight as well. For instance there are very skinny people who do nothing and eat all the time but never gain weight , whereas someone overweight may have the exact same lifestyle and gain weight rapidly. But if you are predisposed to be fat, you can overcome it with working out and eating properly regardless.

Well uh... you get fat from not excersizing and just sitting at home on your computer or watching TV. Certain things like pasta, bananas, peanut butter etc. can give you extra added calories but none of them are bad unless you don't excersize. If you don't want to gain weight then just set yourself on a healthy food amount. Follow the food guide and try to make sure you get lots of excersize.
