Sure- I'm set out for the same goal! Men's dieting can be similar to female dieting (As you can see, I'm a girl) Keep him away from foods high in starch and salt (Potato Chips, Potatoes, Rice) and cook lots of protein such as chicken. Try to avoid red meat and breads, as they are high in calories, unless you like whole wheat breads, and healthy whole grain bagels, this goal is extremely realistic, ot too unhealthy. Also, let him make his own food decisions; don't be the food police, if he makes a bad choice, it's a mistake on his part, not yours. Good luck shedding those pounds!

Get the Abs Diet. It is designed specifically for men (but I lost weight on it too) It's more a guide of how to eat healthy foods and when and what are the best to lose weight and stay full and build muscle. It is an awesome book. The diet is easy to follow and works very well. It is divided into 6 week segments... most people lose 10-20 pounds the first 6 weeks. (It's not low-carb or anything like that... just healthy eating)

A proper diet is the best way to lose weight naturally and keep it off. You have to eat a varied adequate and balanced diet. Your body needs all kinds of food to function properly including fat in smaller quantities though. Your body needs the nutrients and vitamins in fruits and vegetables the most, that is what you should eat the most of (at least 5 servings a day). You also need protein, and a little fat. Reduce your intake of sweets, fried food and foods that contain a lot of fat. Don't drink too many alcoholic beverages or soft drinks (they have a lot of calories). Don't go to sleep right after you eat. And finally exercise at least 3 to 4 days a week for about 45 minutes.Good luck. You can also get more information about nutrition from this site:

Thats approx 52500 calories that he need to burn more than he eats. Or about 1150 calories he need to burn more than he eats every day. In order for him not to become completely lethargic he'll need to eat at least 1500 calories every day. Which means he must burn about 2700 calories each day to lose 15 lbs. in six weeks. All I can say for sure is; it won't be easy. He'll need to cut out all sugar and most all carbs and eat only a high protein diet. And still, somehow, find the energy to do a strenuous exercise routine.

Not a bad goal. He should cut out refined starches like white bread and flour pasta. If he needs to have bread and pasta, switch to whole wheat and should limit it to one meal a day. Limit fatty cuts of meat and choose lean meat instead. Increase water intake and cut out sugary sodas. He should eat 3 meals a day and 1-2 healthy snacks to keep him from binging. Most importantly portion control should be followed. He could also try building muscle mass with weights. He may actually gain weight because mucles is denser than fat but lean mucle will cause him to lose inches so he looks slimmer.
