Any school can be accredited; however, what you want to know is HOW are they accredited? By WHOM are they authorized to disburse credits? (My nephew's elementary school was NEASC accredited but that doesn't mean he could transfer credits to a college.) If you plan on attending another institution after Devry or wherever, literally do your homework on the final diploma granting institute and ask the question, will you accept credits from Devry or whereever you plan on attending. Certain colleges may be accredited by one institution that is not recognized by another.
The other thing is what is your ultimate goal? Do you want a college diploma or a quick fix. Institutes like Fox, Data Institute, Stone Academy, or anyplace else that is not a college will charge phenomenal tuition rates. If you want something quick, this may be the way to go for you but if you want a sheepskin that will stand up in time, start at your local state community college. You can obtain the same education at a prestigious private university for approximately one third of the cost. The professors that teach are many times the same ones that teach at the universities as well. These individuals are called adjuncts and teach at various colleges on a part-time basis.
Take your time, do your research and you won't be taken for a ride by an institution who's only looking into cashing in on your education. When it should be you cashing in on what you know for your salary in the long run. Good luck.

DeVry University is regionally accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (NCA). See: http://www.devry.edu/whydevry/accreditation.jsp. You can also check NCA's website to see DeVry's current standing with them: http://www.ncahlc.org/index.php?option=com_directory&Action=ShowBasic&instid=1784.
Accreditation, whether it is national or regional, is important for a variety of reasons, but the most important usually being that it is among the requirements for a school to be able to offer their students federal financial aid. Keep in mind that the only legitimate accreditation agencies in the United States are those that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Both maintain lists of the accreditation agencies that they recognize.

Devry is an accredited school and like most private schools is pretty expensive. I attended ITT Technical Instiitute instead of Devry because of the atmosphere of the class rooms. Give ITT Tech a shot too and see which one you like better from personal experiance.. best of luck to you in choosing your career path.

I have 2 good friends who both went to DeVry.
1 currently works for Motorola here in the Chicago area, making almost 6 figures.
The other is a low voltage electrician, installing hi-end video equipment and sound systems for conference rooms, hotels, schools, etc, and he travels the country making 6 figures.
Hope this helps.
