In Ontario the Community college program has been eliminated and it is becoming mandatory to had a Nursing degree. I am in First year and I paid :-
Tuition - $5000
books/semester - $700-$900
Laptop computer - Around a $1000
Transportation - Around a $100 for a bus pass per month
Equipment and uniform - $500
These are the really numbers no one really talks about. Everyone just talks about tuition. Well good luck with nursing?

Depends on where you live. Some states (Vermont is one) are offering free nursing education, because of the nationwide nursing shortage, and there are many scholarships available. And Mark: You CAN get an Associate Degree of Nursing (ASN) or Associate of Applied Science, Nursing (AASN) from thousands of community colleges all over the country (The USA that is). Visit the National League for Nursing (NLN) or the American Nurses Association (ANA) websites. They will give you all the info you need, including a list of community colleges offering ASN and AASN programs. Do it soon, we need you!

I am currently going to a community college for nursing. It is costing between $3000 to $5000 a semester, with the cost of books.(depending on how many and what classes I took) Unfortunately most of the books required for the actual nursing program cannot be bought used since they are constantly be updated, and new grads tend to keep their books. Be prepared to be going for about 4 years to get your associates in nursing due to the prereq's required. You also will have the expense of supplies once you are in the program, such as uniforms, stethoscope, etc. All together these cost me about $300.
You can apply for grants to cover these costs though. Unlike loans, grants do not have to be paid back. You can apply on your own through the website http://www.fafsa.us/index.htm or you can talk to the financial adviser at your college. Good luck.

I am going to sullivan to get an associates in cma (certified medical assisting) Before i go to community college. You don't have to pay anything while you go. If you do that first you don't have to go as long or pay as much at a community college because the credits are transferrable, and you can come back at any point in your life to take refresher classes for free.

It cost me a little over 6,000.00 dollars total for my nursing degree in Cleveland. There are lots of scholarships out there for students who want to enter the medical field, especially nursing. Look into getting those scholarships and maybe you won't have to worry about the cost of your nursing education. I went to school with people who didn't have to pay a dime out of pocket because they had scholarships. Good luck.

prices vary with different schools. usually you can find the college's web site, and it should show a catologue with course descriptions and tuition rates. keep in mind that nursing students require A LOT of books, so try to get used books if at all possible.

That depends entirely on which school you choose to go to. Prices can vary a great deal, I suggest you go to the school you are considering and ask them, also ask them about what kinds of financial aids would be available to you. Good Luck.

Last time I checked...you cannot become a registered Nurse (RN) through community college level courses.
So, the answer is no amount of money.

You will need your tuition fees, living expenses and travel expenses. It can work out very expensive, and unless you are living at home it will be a tough time financially;
