I have tried South Beach and gave it up because I was permitted to eat much of anything for a long time. I then tried Weight Watchers and lost 10 lbs. but then plateaued and could not lose anymore and got sick of the expensive, public, weekly meetings and products.
I am now on LA Weight Loss and I love it! I have lost about 20lbs. since the end of August. I only have to go to one, private meeting a week but can go up to three times a week. I don't have to buy their products, if I don't want to, either. It also takes my health problems into account and is tailored to me...not me to them!
I believe that everyone must find the diet that works for them but I have found that LA Weight Loss is one of the best that works with you and tailors to you.

Has the Pope ever said mass? lolol;
I have been on more diets than I care to remember ( and most of them I dont care to remember!!!). Since being diagnosed as diabetic 6 months ago I have been on the GI Diet by Rick Gallop. I have lost almost 80lbs in that 6 months and I even lost 3lb over Christmas week. Its the best Healthy eating plan (Its too good to call it a diet) I have ever been on and it works fantastically. If you are looking to lose weight you cannot go wrong with this one, and all it takes to get started is 1 book which you can get for around £5 from Amazon (used) or around £12 (new);

Yes, I have often been on a diet. I am one of those people who can gain weight when I look at food, but I have also learned how to lose weight in a healthy and reasonably fast way. Here is my plan:
1. Eat three nutritious meals and three snacks everyday. Cut out junk food. You probably need about 1500 to 1800 calories a day. Many people make the mistake of not eating enough when they try to lose weight and then become discouraged.
2. Drink lots of water - at least 8 big glasses as day. Lots of water is essential. Stop drinking soda and other drinks with useless calories. Eat fresh fruit instead of fruit juices - the juices are very high in calories.
3. Begin a simple weight lifting program at home or at a gym. Ordinary household items (tins of soup, for example) can actually serve as weights for beginners. Buy yourself a good weight lifting book for women. Actually the "dummies" series of books has done a rather good one.
4. Walk, walk, walk. Buy yourself a pedometer and aim for 10,000 steps a day.
5. Record everything you eat and all your exercise to make sure you have a "calorie deficit". Two of the sites I've included will help you do that. Basically buring more calories than you take in leads to weight loss. You need a deficit of 3500 calories to lose one pound.
6. If you drive, do less of it and park at the back of the parking lot instead of close to the door. Always use stairs - never the elevator or escalator.
7. A mini stepper is an easy piece to equipment to have at home and gives great results. I bought mine at a second hand store for $4. even if you use it for a minute or two several times a day it can make a big difference.
I hope these thoughts help. You can do this. Good luck with it.

I lost around 50 lbs but I was determined and never gave myself a break (birthdays etc.) and I ate strictly tuna fish or canned white chicken. The straight protein took it off fast. It took 4 months. Your mindset and knowing how to keep it there, is the most important part. And don't let anyone tempt you because even your own family will try to mess you up. So none of that "Just this once" stuff. Then, when you are down several sizes, have a plan of eating after the diet or you will put it all back on with extra fat cells. The Bad News: Fat cells can be INcreased but never DEcreased!!

Not a diet, I just learned to limit my food intake, I excercise at 3 or more times a week, and I make sure I get plenty of rest and water . Yes, I have lost a lot of weight. I lost 2-3 pounds a week and so far a total of 50 pounds, I still have a little more too go, it took about 5 months to lose pounds, it takes time and patience, but it's so well worth it and it's a healthy and comfortable way to do it.

I'll be on a weight-loss diet for the rest of my life, but I've found a diet that I can live with. I lost 100 lbs. by getting plenty of exercise, watching what I ate (counting fat grams and calories), and drinking lots of water. The first 45-50 lbs. came off pretty fast, in 4-5 months. The rest came off slower. It took about another 6 months. I eat Lean Cuisine and Weight Watchers foods that I can buy at the store, but eat other things, too.

Yep. The Abs Diet. It's just eating small healthy meals throughout the day, so it's not really a diet. Just how you change your eating habits to be more healthy and lose belly fat.
I lost 15 pounds the first 6 weeks and 10 the next 6 weeks and have not gained a pound back.

I'm way underweight but i can give you some tips.
All foods and many drinks contains calories, a kind of energy. When someone diets to lose weight, the person is trying to eat fewer calories than the body uses. By doing this, the person may lose body fat and decrease his or her weight. Likewise, if a person eats more calories than the body uses, the person may gain weight.
Eat smaller but more meals. Eat vegetables adn drink lots of water.
Diets that don't include a variety of nutritious foods, or have too few calories, can be dangerous. Some dangerous diets cut out entire categories of foods or require the person to eat just one thing, such as cabbage soup - yuck! The truth is there is no quick fix when it comes to weight loss.

You name the diet and I've been on it! But there's only one that I find easy to stick with and healthy enough to stick with and that is weight watchers. Average lose is about 2-5 pounds per week (depending on how much you need to loose initially......the more overweight you are the more you loose initially) and then it averages out to 1-2 pounds per week so that you lose a moderate amount over a period of time which helps you to KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF unlike many of the "lose weight quickly.........only to gain it back just as quickly when you get off the diet" which is worse than being overweight to start with in my opinion. I don't really consider it a diet though because it teaches you how to eat HEALTHY portions and choices and maintain that healthy eating lifestyle. So it's more of a lifestyle change than just a diet. I also liked it so much because there is a LOT of support and tips for free on their chat website. I also like that you don't have to buy THEIR food, so it teaches you how to make your own healthy decisions with every day food. Even teaches you how to make heathly choices for eating out. There's NOTHING that's forbidden, you just have to eat the "not so healthy" choices in moderation. I average about 7-10 pounds per month. They even have two different types of eating plans, one where you eat ANYTHING you want, just in portion control sizes and one where you can have AS MUCH AS YOU WANT of certain foods. Just depends on your personal eating habits on which will work best for you. You should try it! Hope this helps:)

Diets is such a harsh word. I eat right!
Organics, vegetables, no fast food, non-fat/low-fat foods. Exercise and diet drinks. It can be done. I lost 10lbs in month and half. 1 hour of cardio 6 days a week. These "fad" diets out there now is a scam. Nutrisystem, carb diet or weight watchers. You have to make sacrifices to lose the weight and be fit.
Eat lean cuisines, turkey burgers, salads low fat stuff!!! NO FAST FOODS!!
