I slept in my contacts. And This morning my eyes are swollen shut and they hurt SO bad. What can I do? For Relief?

Get the contacts out, cold water on them and medical attention if things dont improve;

1) Ibuprofen (to reduce swelling and pain)

2) Cool compress (wash cloth or similar)

3) Rest your eye and do NOT rub it. Less irritation helps it to heal. Eyes heal fairly quickly. If I remember correctly, eyes are the second fastest healing part of the body next to the mouth. So keep them closed and do not rub them.

4) Obviously have someone drive you, and see your eye doctor immediately to be sure you have not developed conjunctivitis (pink eye) or scratched your eye in some manner. Sometimes contacts can cut the eye, like a papercut and it can irritate and sting like a (insert bad word here). The doctor can use a yellow kind of dye (which stings badly if your eye is indeed cut) to examine the damage done, if any.

5) Obviously ... never repeat that mistake again. Never sleep in your contacts. I know sometimes some people will get sleepy and fall asleep suddenly, but if you are even close to this sleepy .. take them out. Risk of infection in the eye is costly and very painful. Speaking from experience - as currently I have a form of conjunctiva not caused by contacts, but by a cold.

IF you haven't already, take the contacts out. You may need to add eyedrops or soak your eyes with saline in order to do this. Do not pull or force the lens off your eye, as you could do serious damage. Once you are able to remove the lens, put rewetting drops in your eyes and keep them closed for a little while. They should start to feel better after doing this.

By this time you might have taken treatment for that.Never repeat this thing again.contact lenses by mistake kept in eyes overnight cause hypoxia (decreased oxygen) to cornea which results in oedema,intense pain.
This is an emergency and the lenses should be removed by an expert
Take care
