Asking why people often answer questions with scripture instead of presenting the IDEA behind the scripture as a logical answer? I got reported for it twice. I wonder why. It's a valid question and not meant to offend anyone. Maybe it's because it makes a certain someone insecure about themself?

I honestly think there needs to be a seperate categories for "Religion", "Religious Debate", and "Christians Proclaiming the Word in Thinly Veiled Form of Question." In the last category, questions like yours would not be welcome and would be a violation. However, the rest of us could ask normal questions about religion in the first one, and have a healthy debate in the second (where only personal insults and loaded questions are a violation).

This would probably reduce the workload for Yahoo since they seem to be constantly bombarded with violation notices from both sides of the nasty, self-righteous religion spats I've noticed here.

Incidentally, I must say that your question has at least the slight odor of being a loaded one, insofar as you are suggesting that people who offer scripture as an answer can't think for themselves. If you can at least admit that then you might fare better in the future (I'm guessing Yahoo wont take my new categories idea).

The people who answer with Scripture do so because they believe the scripture (word of God) is a higher authority than them. I don't know who reported you. I am not sure Yahoo reveals who the reporting person is.
