If you want the recipe to be done fast use the non-boil noodles. The cooking time suggested in the box leaves the noodle a little undercook and non tender enough to my taste, even after baking.
I usually extend the time in the hot water before using them.
The traditional kind tend to be more tender, (if you don't prefer al dente) and blends better with the other ingredients. Usually are more prone to breaking when cooking and assembling of the lasagna.
The boling water usually takes 10-15 minutes to boil and the pasta cooks in more than 15-20 minutes depending on the quantity.

I've never had good luck with those no-boil noodles. They're gummy or never get done. But when I use boil noodles, it comes out perfect. So I'm going to be old-fashioned and stick with boiling noodles.

I have used both. Personally I like the boil noodles because they are softer. The non-boil noodles are more convenient but just don't taste as good as the traditional method.

Either one is fine. They both turn out fine, although I find the no-boil noodles taste a tiny bit starchier and are a little chewier. They're easier to use. No-boil noodles have already been cooked a bit and then dried out again, just like converted rice.
But if you want the real thing, the one my grandmother would make, you use regular noodles and cook them half way before putting them in the lasagna.
Boun Appetito!

The best noodles for lasagna are the ones you have to boil. The non-bake ones usually do not hold up as well. They tend to be too hard when the lasagna is done baking.

Boil for sure. That makes it nice and slippery. But before you bake the lasgna make sure the noodles are dried up a little.

it takes more time to boil them but it does work un-boiled. just be sure to use lots of extra sauce since the noodles will soak it up.
