The beach is always fun and FREE! If you are going to be on Oahu, go snorkeling at Hanauma Bay. It is about $5 to get in since it is a conservation area. The water is calm, and you are pretty much guaranteed to see alot of fish and sometimes even sea turtles. Pack your own lunch though, the snack shack is expensive. If you go, go early... once the parking lot fills up they close it up. Or take a shuttle from Waikiki and you don't have to worry about that. Check out the website for more info http://www.co.honolulu.hi.us/parks/facility/hanaumabay/welcome.htm

The beach is cheap (free ) fun . There are some hiking trails in the mountains also . For his birthday I suggest a nice dinner and a walk down waikiki beach at sunset , after that you're on your own .

Have fun and congratulations !!!

Hire a couple of surf boards and hit the beach its the most fun learning how to surf you could teach each other.

You could also do Hawaiian dancing lessons great fun too!

Have a wicked time!

go to a laua. if you are going to maui then go on the road to hana, if you are on the big island go to the black sand beaches(dont take any sand), if you are going to oahu go to the north shore,if you are going to molokai go to the east end and look at all the cliffs, if youi are going to lanai get on a boat and go snorkling(you can also get on a boat from maui that goes to lanai and you snorkle),if you are going to kaui then drive around the island(it is really small) and if you like hiking hike around the end that has the secluded beach...hope this helps
