Question: What do you think about the idea that God could have forgiven our sins with a snap of His fingers?
Deleted Answer: There is no sin. Sin, hell and satan are man made terms. I will not live my life in fear of an imaginary place created in a book full of hate and bigotry. Nope, I will always think more highly of God and I give Him much more credit. You must think that He is stupid.
Or was it reported because I did not agree? Hmm, tough question huh?

I just got the same email for an answer I posted yesterday -
Question: What do you think about the Catholic Religion?
Deleted Answer: The Vatican is the biggest hypocrite and liar of all the religions. Witness the crusades, selling of indulgences and idols, the worship of saints, allowing AIDS to spread by forbidding the use of condoms, their pathetic treatment of women (forcing wives to always be barefoot & pregnant), and refusing to allow women to serve on a EQUAL basis. Finally there is the immense wealth (notice how the money always flows up the hierarchy but never back down again) of the church, and last but not least hiding the pedophiles instead of punishing them. Thats what I think of the catholic religion. It is a whopping huge 2000 year old lie and a hoax.
Reason of Violation:Community Guidelines Violation
It was the truth and someone (probably the person asking the question) did NOT like reading the truth. LOL
The religious police are prowling Yahoo Answers.
Beware all who enter and answer - there is no such thing as Free Speech.

The only reason I can see that you may have gotten deleted is for saying that they're man made terms (they're technically Christian). I'm sure someone got upset that you didn't give Christianity credit where it is due. They probably also got upset that you insinuated they think God is stupid.
Personally, I don't see what's wrong with your response. You're right - sin, hell and Satan are Christian people, places and things that I don't believe in at all. Of course, this answer will probably be deleted as well. I've been deleted for saying there is no sin, Satan or hell before.

No, it's not a violation. You didn't insult anyone, you just expressed an opinion which I believe is way off, but that is certainly not a violation. Some "reporting" is pretty strange, and done on a major scale could totally ruin "Yahoo Answers" unless they decide to take the time to check on the reported violations. but I guess there must be so many they can't afford to check all those out ("afford" is a very relative term) - and in nay case, I wouldn't be interested in actually paying to use Yahoo Answers!
I have had a few "reportings" from both sides of the religious question. I think it is pretty ..... oops (don't want to use a word that could get me a violation!)...

Someone just doesn't like your answer. Happens sometimes. The idea of the questioner appears to be a typical Muslim question, posed by Mohammad.
Of course, if one views God as a just judge, then a price (death) must be paid for the "sin" or evil.
Sin, hell and Satan are made up terms, however, all of language is made up to describe things. Sin is something that leads to a betrayal of God or man and those acts also which are a betrayal of God and man.
Satan is that which tempts you to do those things that are not in unity with mankind.
Hell is a state of being, of existence, brought on by sin. Whether or not one will go on forever without God (if thrown in a place separated from God) is fairly unclear, and seems to be outside of reason. Though I will not make a judgment on it here.

Someone did not like your answer. I had a comment deleted one time when I just spoke what the bible said about a subject. I now quote it word for word if it is a verse I think will get me a violation.
I know what the bible says and will speak of what I know and usually just give book chapter and verse, but I do not beleive the bible since I am pagan and Wicca is my religion.
Personally I think if the answer comes from a sincere opinion and is not meant to put down people, I do not see why a lot of them get deleted.
I see a lot of questions and answers that should be deleted, but are not.

We got ourselves a bunch of egg-shell christians on this here site. It's like this folks: if you don't want to read penetrating questions that cause you to doubt your own beliefs, don't come to yahoo answers.
I personally don't see how any question should be out of bounds since the most ignorant questions almost always have the most easily refuted premises.
The other night I tried twice to ask what I thought to be a legitimate question about the condition of the Virgin Mary's genitalia when she was pregnant with Jesus. I can understand (sort of) why somebody reported the first question. But the second question was asked in a very clinical and non-insulting way.
But some people would rather just run to the censors when they feel threatened. It displays a weakness of character, in my opinion.

Someone may have reported it, and it got automatically deleted. I think there is a glitch in the YA system that will automatically delete something if it's reported. That's what someone else said, anyway.
It's too bad the fundies feel a need to do things like that, is it? Report things just because they counter their beliefs.
Oh, a while back, I asked this question: Are there any Deists here at Yahoo Answers?. It was deleted for violating guidelines as well.

Well, by inference you are saying anyone who believes in the Bible believes in bigotry and hate. The could be seen as insulting other participants. But I doubt anyone looked that carefully. It was probably just reported and some Yahoo deleted it without looking. I have had a question "What should my New Years Resolution be?" deleted before it hit the board.

its because you did ot agree. i had my last account terminated for expressing my disgust re: the born agains and the hard core catholics. I reregistered and started over... and I let go of the resentment and anger I had.
There simply is no point venting at these people. They will not hear me any more than I will hear their parroting. So really it is MY issue wanting to be nasty and I decided to let ig and I feel better. Anger and mean is like a drug and in a perverse way it gets my adrenaline going and I get off on it so I need to keep working on that.

Well considering that you are insulting the very fundamentals on which Christianity is set on, I am glad you were reported. just a shame I did not do it. calling the Bible full of hate and bigotry. Yeah that sounds like harassment directed at Christian. good job whoever reported this person. God Bless.
