joke with them... but not about them!

There are certain body language signals that you can use to make someone feel comfortable around you. First, you need to appear open and responsive to them. Second you need to form almost a body-language repartee, by subtly mimicking their actions. Don't do it so that you exactly mirror what they're doing- that's just freaky, but, for instance, if they have a hand on their leg put a hand on your leg (not theirs for heaven's sake). This develops a subconscious connection. If you think it is going well, try some minimal, non-suggestive body contact. Skin-on-skin contact makes your body release oxytocin, which helps people bond. Also, if the other person responds well, it shows that they are indeed feeling comfortable around you. However, you must remain genuine and be yourself.

If you are just trying to make them comfortable around you, you need to concentrate on them. This is how you make friends. Ask about them? Find their interests and ask them questions. Listen and actively think as they talk about these interests.

If you are trying to make someone comfortable toward a relationship, then this be yourself **** that girls feed you is a load of bullcrap!! Tease the other person in a joking way, and get to know them. Make being with them fun, and they will swoon!

Normally when your relaxed and comfortable it rubs off. Act as if you guys have been friends forever and be yourself and what makes your other friends comfortable around you do the same for this person.

The usual answer would be to just be yourself , but I've come across alot of people that should never ,under any circumstances be themselves.
Get them talking and encourage coversation without actually saying much, people like others that listen, and if you don't say much you can't offend them.
Try to meet her/him in thier "natural habitat", (at home for most people, but mine is in my work shop) some where they feel most comfortable.
Don't try too hard, cause you could get annoying.
good luck

Do not "power stare" at them.
Do not insult their family or mother.
Do not interrupt them whilst they're in the middle of a long-winded story involving a pinny and a feather duster.
Do not allow them to pay for anything.
Do not tell them they have had one too many and "don't you think it's time you went home?"
That 's all I know off the top of my head.

By being easy to talk to and by being yourself.

By being able to poke a little fun at yourself also makes people feel comfortable.

You dont get them to do anything,
just relax if you are relaxed and open then people will feel calm and relaxed also when their with you.
If they still dont feel comfortable with you then they never will.
