Well cutting the amount of food you eat will certainly cut calories which might cause you to lose weight, but it might also cause your metabolism to slow down. Basically when the body has a drastic decrease in calories it can assume that there is a famine or something and that it needs to conserve body fat as long as possible to keep you alive. If you pair cutting calories with excersie, which increases your metabolism, you would definetly lose weight.

The amount of food you eat (i.e. the amount of calories you take in), depends on your body and activity level. Of course eating less is going to lower your caloric intake, but it's important to look at exactly how much you are eating, how often, and what foods. If you aren't eating enough (as only a small breakfast, small lunch, and small dinner might imply), your metabolism will slow down and start storing the calories - thus no weight loss and feeling fatigued as well. Go to MSN's health tools to figure out your recommended daily caloric intake (based on your wt and activity level) and divide that by 6. Eat 6 equal meals throughout the day, as evenly spaced out as possible. This will ensure your metabolism keeps moving, your bloodsugars stay level, and that your body is properly fueled. If you want to lose weight, lower your daily recommended caloric needs for maintainence by 500 (but never below 1200!). This will help you lose 1 lb of fat per week (a healthy weight loss amount). You can help speed up weight loss and help you feel better by increasing your activity level. Note, though, that the more you workout, the more calories your body will need to keep up.
Good luck!

A proper diet is the best way to lose weight naturally and keep it off. You have to eat a varied adequate and balanced diet. Your body needs all kinds of food to function properly including fat in smaller quantities though. Your body needs the nutrients and vitamins in fruits and vegetables the most, that is what you should eat the most of (at least 5 servings a day). You also need protein, and a little fat. Reduce your intake of sweets, fried food and foods that contain a lot of fat. Don't drink too many alcoholic beverages or soft drinks (they have a lot of calories). Don't go to sleep right after you eat. And finally exercise at least 3 to 4 days a week for about 45 minutes.Good luck. You can also get more information about nutrition from this site:

Health should be your number one priority and I admire you for wanting to lose weight. I wouldn't put myself on a diet. I would ask either a dietician or a doctor. Smaller 'anything' will allow you to lose weight BUT ... you must keep up your metabolism so you can function and not lose strength. Only the two professionals in mention can do this!

Now watch it! Small portions arent always good unless youre eating 5-6 of them a day. I recommend eating a large breakfast then a small lunch and a smaller dinner.
It has been proven that people that eat a healthy breakfast are least obese in the population.
Im glad you incorporated tea! Dont deprive yourself instead enjoy eating, but eating right!

Portion control is great, healthy foods are great, but stay away from "low fat" products. They often contain extra sugar to make the food taste good after the fat has been taken out. Stick to whole grains, fresh or frozen veggies(canned have unnecessary salt), fresh fruits(frozen have added sugar), and nice lean meat. Keep your portions under control. For example, eat until you are satisfied, NOT full. Keep all this up and you'll do great!

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
