I would like to start doing this around 5 or 5:30am. How do you keep yourself motivated enough to get up everyday at this time? What has been your experience during your early morning prayer?

I ask the Lord to wake me so that I can have some quiet time with Him in the morning--I try to keep a prayer journal and sometimes I just turn on music and lay on the floor and worship before anyone wakes up. Those are the days that seem to be filled with more joy and contentment about what was accomplished that day.

I pray all during the day, when I'm taking my children to school, when I am washing dishes and when I am taking a break , at work all the time, the Bible says to pray with out ceasing.

Now, when I was a Protestant- I had to do my morning prayers.. and in order to stay awake I would stand on the edge of the bathtub and do this, My mother said she heard of a preacher doing it, so she made me do it- reading my Bible too- I would always fall asleep- so back to the bathroom I would go.

I am Catholic now, but I still pray- (not on the bathtub)
ALSO May I add, I do not pray to Mary, I go straight to the Father.

God Bless.

We can do anything when we want to or have to do it. If your job requires you at 4:00 am you would be there; the bills have to be paid. If your spiritual life requires that time spent with God it's a breeze. I was up at 3:00 this morning, spent two hours with the Lord and then do my devotion at 8:00 am. This allow me quality time and less distraction at a later hour in the day. It also gives me the boost I need, like the first meal in the day. Try it, it is great and uplifting.

OK i am a baby christian and i don't get up as early as i want to (yet) to pray and read my bible...I do however pray and read it every day even if not first thing in the morning. You must keep asking God to give you strength to do his will. I truly believe God wants you to pray every moment you have to just think. While your driving to work, etc. You don't have to close your eyes. Just talk to him as if he is in the car with you. It feels weird at first but through out the day makes a difference

Every single day I wake up and pray before the sunrises. In the summer that can mean getting up at 4am to pray. During the winter, I can sleep in a bit ;)
