Yeah, I know lots of other programs, like Pixia, Picasa and Photoplus, they're all terrific, but I know just what you mean. Sometimes the only program I need in my graphic designing job is Paint, believe it or not...Lol

From Google, it looks like you might need an XP CD to reinstall Paint. However, I did notice some good advice above that should solve it. If it doesn't, this is the last thing you want to do.

First, back up all your programs on Cd or floppy. Then go to Start > All Programs > System Recovery and recover your system to however far back you think it was deleted.

You may have it available but not installed and visible. You can try this (I am assuming you have a Windows XP operating system--Vista similar?): --Go to Add and Remove programs. Where this is could vary based on your computer setup. For me I go to Settings, Control Panel, then Add and Remove Programs. --On the side, there should be a button that says Add/Remove Windows Components. --Drill down time: Make sure Accessories and Utilities is checked and highlighted, then click on the Details button. Do the same for the Accessories on the next window. --Check the box next to Paint. Click OK on the windows until you are out of the windows and Paint should become available after a short install.

You should be able to get it back by running the add / remove programs wizard found in the control panel and then selecting paint from the Windows components section.

the actual program name is "mspaint.exe" You may have only deleted the shortcut and there may be more than one copy on the computer. Open a "My Computer" window and click on search (or press F3 on the keyboard), make sure you are looking in the C: hard drive and search for mspaint. If you have deleted it you can copy it from another computer, it is small enough to fit on a floppy disk.

Go to Control Panel then to Add / Remove Programs. When it loads, on the side should be Add Windows Components. Go there and click the ckeck box next to paint to have it checked.

I know you are not looking for a different program, but there are some that are very similar to MS Paint. Try paint.net from that list. It's a mix of photoshop and MS paint. :)

If you go to control panel> add remove programs then select windows components> choose accessories and utilties > accessories and then put a check mark in the box next to paint and then click ok. This should reinstall it onto your system.
