"Where did Cain get his wife?"

Many ask this question thinking they’ve found a "mistake" in the Bible—that there must have been other people besides Adam and Eve. Scripture tells us that Adam is "the first man" (1 Corinthians 15:45); that there were no other humans when he was created, because God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone" (Genesis 2:18); and that Eve is "the mother of all living" (Genesis 3:20). Cain and Abel, then, must have married distant sisters. All of the first-generation siblings married each other in order to populate the earth. At that time there was no law against incest. But as the population grew large enough, and as the risk of genetic problems increased because of sin’s curse, God outlawed marriage between siblings.

Genesis 4:17 says, "Cain lay with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch." Who was his wife? It is implied in the biblical text that Cain married one of his sisters. Several facts lead us to this conclusion.
First, it is clear that Adam and Eve had a number of children. Genesis 5:4 says, "After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters." Since Adam and Eve were the first man and woman, and since God had commanded them (and their descendants) to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28), it seems reasonable to conclude that Cain married one of his many sisters. It is also possible that he married a niece or even a grandniece.
One must keep in mind that in the early years of the human race there were no genetic defects that had yet developed as a result of the fall of man. By the time of Abraham, God had not yet declared this kind of marriage to be contrary to His will (see Genesis 20:12). Laws governing incest apparently did not become enacted until the time of Moses (Lev 18:7-17; 20:11,12,14,17,20,21). Hence, there was no prohibition regarding marrying a sister (or niece or grandniece) in the days of Cain.

No, Adam and Eve were not related. They were perfect. They lived to be in their 900's. They had many children who would have married a brother or sister, with no defects because they were so close to perfection. As time went by, they would get further apart genetically. Of course, after the flood, it start over with Noah's family, his three sons and their wives, which the three main races come from his three sons. God gave Noah the same commandment he gave Adam & Eve at Gen. 9: 1 "And God went on to bless Noah and his sons and to say to them: "Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth."

So we all come from Noah's family. But to say we are all incest is ridiculous. People marry first, second and third cousins today and it's legal in most countries.

Man came up with the term "incest".

We have to look at the beginning of time...

We are all children of God. That is spiritual, not flesh.

Adam and Eve were not blood brother and sister. God made Adam, and Eve from him, for him. If we are to take our heritage directly from Adam and Eve, then no, we have not been created from incest.

They had children, and their children went off to other lands and married others, and had children. They had 2 boys, one killed the other, and one went off to another land. He married and bore children.

Adam and Eve had other children, but it does not state those children laid with oneanother.

But yes, there were brothers and sisters who married and bore children way back when, but, back then, it was acceptable by our Creator to populate the world.

When there was no need for it any longer, the laws were then changed by God, and, He deemed it a sin.
There is no need for it.
The Bible says man was made for God, and woman was made for man. We are to make after our own kind. We can do that now without being with our family members.

That is why most children of incest turn out with deformaties. There is a consequence to every sin. But, when it was acceptable by God, there were no consequences because it was alright.
God doesnt see us as flesh, but as spirits. We only see physical and flesh. But there is more than what we see.

Hope that helped?

We are from one family, that is true. But before the Torah was given, it was not unlawful. The fall of man from Adam degenerated everything, including DNA. BUT, multiplication from the earliest family did not have the effects it does today. The law protected us from that in it's perfectly given time when Mose gave the law. The DNA was perfect from Adam and Eve and only degenerated to the point to when AFTER the flood it came to the point where multiplication was harmful with close relatives when Moses gave the law.

I'm not sure if we were created from an act of incest. But I'm pretty darn positive that Adam and Eve did not have belly buttons!

Yes, so what's your point? Adam and Eve were also brother and sister, having the same genetic material, though in a sense, she was a clone of him. minus the X Chromosome.

Being perfect, and without genetic abnormalities, they could breed and produce children without genetic abnormalities. But, as time passed, and abnormalities crept into the gene pool, it became no longer possible. This may change after Armageddon, when humans are once again perfect.

Right, and I don't see a problem with that. There was no other way. Additionally, the taboo of incest is more of a recent historical issue. Back in the day it wasn't looked at like it is today.

i guess if wot ur saying is basically if we traced our lines rite bak to the begining then wud we all go bak to adam and eve then yes. but... wen u say incest it sounds liek we shud all deforemed and stuff but wer not because God made adam and eve perfect so they didn't have any mutations in their genes. Now tho, because our genes have gone thru so many genees etc... if you interbreed like.. for long times... then you get deformities.
