I'm the proud owner of 21 dogs.
All are rescue dogs, fixed, fully vetted, to include heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

Gringo, Lucciola, Daisy, Ophelia-Chihuahuas
Precious-Toy Fox Terrier
Blossom-Toy Manchester Terrier
Tinker-Schipperkee
Cricket, Bambi-Mini Dachshund
Big Patches-Pit Bull/Red Heeler mix

Carol-Chihuahua/Poodle mix
Molly-Siberian Husky
Fuffi-Australian Shepherd
Zeus, Zeke, Dakota, Rambo-German Shepherds
Thor-Rottweiler

My grandparents have 49 no joke. All are very well cared for and are small breed (most beagles and dachunds). They breed and the dogs live in the house and the fenced in yard. They also have about 11 adopted cats that all live inside.

l have four dogs. a 17 yr old chihuahua, a mutt[ jack Russel and chihuahua mixed ] 2 yr old, a small Sheppard 1 yr old and a st. bernard that is 5 months old. boy is he big. all except the chihuahua and the st bernard were recused from a bad home.but my wallet told me that was enough., ha ha

I don't. But my VP has the most dogs I've ever met. He has 11 adult labs (and 27 cats). All are inside pets.

Nope - I only own one Akita but I am looking to purchase another one as soon as possible.
I guess two dogs would be about standard.

I have two, I love dogs and I would get more, but to be honest my Husband would not be happy, and happy dogs and happy husbands are better than several dogs.
