I don't break out in a rash or anything, but I get itchy, especially my face. Does this happen to anyone else?

It's a common side effect. If it really bothers you, talk to your doctor to see about changing the medication or reducing the dosage.

No you are not allergic. Vicodin blocks CNS impulses, in a since leaving the brain starved for some blocked sensations. The end result is itching. If you were allergic it would manifest as a rash on the trunk (abdomen) of the body.

I feel ya...my face was always itchy. I thought I was going crazy at first. Remember just to take it when needed. I started taking a 1/2 pill when the pain was less. This helped on the itchyness and made sure I didn't get hooked!

I get the same reaction and even get a bit "loopy " at night . I feel this may be an early allergic sign and certainly is not a good side effect ,so call your Dr. and ask for another drug .

I have Fibromyalgia, chronic pain and Osteoarthritis. Yes, when I was on Hydrocodone my face itched like crazy! It was especially bothersome around my nose. I found this irritating with other presciption narcotic pain relievers.I used a light lotion to help relieve the itching.
In a few days, I will write in my blog about my addiction to narcotics and withdrawal. Please check out my page.

This is a common side effect of opiate use and indicates the dose is too high. Trust me, you do NOT want to get dependent on these things. Use as needed and directed and only for as short a time as possible.
