Back in the day, they called that "Charm School" and yes, I attended...can't ya tell? lol Seriously, it's a good thing to teach the kids. I did learn a lot in that class, and it stuck with me after all these years. You may wanna look up Miss Manners in addition to regular etiquette sources. She has some great advice.

What a great idea! I would love for my son to go to an etiquette class. There is a lovely book written by Dorothea Johnson called the Little Book of Etiquette.

What a great idea you have. A lot of people have given you great examples. I would also suggest going to amazon.com and searching for books on Etiquette you can pick up used copies and save yourself some money.

Also, Do not forget to teach about etiquette online!! It seems that one is very lack also!

Kudos to you and good luck!!

Ck your local library... children's section and the parent section... u can find great resources for free. Kluntz has good material...but a teacher gave me a Scholastic book to borrow. It was way too childish but it was what we needed to brainstorm. Then ideas, games just develop. Can't remember the name.

It needs to fun, engaging. We combined dinner etiquette with cooking. Lots of fun, and we ended a session by having a formal dinner. Made trivia games so they learned utensils, had skits of terrible table manners, recognized campers who displayed what they were learning. Carried through to craft sessions and picking up after themselves, maintaining their cabin and tents to be neat and tidy.

We expanded and went over walking, dancing, learning about hygiene. They won't remember everything, but some of their parents and teachers luv the ideas and decided to make it a part of their character education.

I have 4 children and one of my favorite resouces has been the book by Ron Clark called "The Essential 55." (55 rules for life)This book was written about his teaching experiences in inner city schools, but most are applicable to life. Check it out at your local public library. If you like it, buy it.

Congratulations. Make friends with the head librarian of the children's dept., and ask her about etiquette books, also the bookstore would have the most up to date ones as well.

They should have used mandatory ettiquette classes in public schools as we have a whole generation of people who have no idea what manners are. God bless you.
I agree with the answer above. Get a Miss Manners book from the library.

If you offer a handshake and it is refused, just withdraw your hand. Under most circumstances you have followed protocol while the other person has been ungracious in refusing to respond.

U can use google or yahoo search index for proper answer to ur question. But I got to tell u something else. Dont forget that u r letting them know how to be good to favourables and unfavourables at any situations. But u r not brushing ur personal feelings and emotions on others.

I do not know the name but I remember seeing a series of good books for Home Schooling on this topic and others, such as ethics etc. Check under books to Home School.
