Well, about your cravings , this is due to the improper eating style . Ur meals are unbalanced ; u cant count cake or biscuits as a snack cuz they dont give u all the nutrients u need , a proper meal should contain a source of proteins , some veggtables etc..
I work full day too , and i used to eat snacks like choco bars and biscuits , but trust me , i gained LOTS of weight and i felt terrible. Now I take an apple + a sandwhich (brown bread ofcourse) and im doing pretty fine...
I think the only solution is to go c a dietitian , and he/she will give u the right diet according to ur lifestyle.
Good luck , and never loose hope ;)

By the sound of it you're at the end of your tether. I'm afraid there's nothing else for it - you're going to have to learn to like vegetables at least. You crave sweet stuff, that's your body trying to tell you it needs vitamins, which you get from fresh vegetables. You also need slow-burning carbohydrates which you get from potatoes and also pasta and rice.
By the sound of it, a drastic overhaul is required ... but don't panic. You might need to learn how to cook, simply so you can investigate HOW you might like veg. For years I wouldn't eat cabbage, I thought it was disgusting. Then I moved in with a man who knew how to cook it - just steam it for 15 minutes, then serve it up right away - and I discovered it was delicious! My mother used to boil it into radioactive sludge for 45 minutes at least. Then I cooked cabbage last Christmas, and low and behold, everyone had some and liked it, and my sister who is an avowed cabbage hater, even had a second helping!
You could try: chopped carrot (and parsnip, when you're feeling a little more adventurous) with a little fresh ginger, steamed for 15-20 minutes. Nice with some potatoes and a chop.
Yes, in order to get into a better lifestyle you have to make some changes - sounds daunting, but it's much, much better to do it gradually. So after you read this, just get a raw carrot, top and tail it, peel it and eat it. You'll be getting vitamins, and they're nice raw. Just have the one today. Tomorrow have another one, and a stick of celery, perhaps. Do not have these instead of what you normally eat, that's too sudden a change. Have them before or after. Over time you can increase the amount of raw veg, and learn what you like and what agrees with you.
Be patient. A lifestyle change takes time. A few small changes during the course of a week add up over a month, over a year.

Snacking through the day does you a disservice. Remember when you were a little kid and you were SOOO hungry that the food tasted just great? You arent really enjoying your food cuz you arent really getting truly hungry. Eat only three meals a day, no matter what they are. Then work on whats going on in your head! If you indulge, make sure you KNOW that what you eat is gonna taste FANTASTIC. Moms homemade banana cream...you know thats good. But that day old donut isnt worth the calories! If you must have a snack between, have an apple or some kind of fruit...nature made it just for you!

sorry to say but the only way to get ridof the weight is diet and excercise. Everyone likes sweet stuff but do it in moderation. try different meals, maybe the ones you tasted weren't thst good. if you want sweet stuff have some fruit, like pineapple or melon. the craving will disappear in 3 days or so you just have to let them pass. if you must have a biscuit just have the one not a packet. you need to eat proper meals. you're craving sweet stuff because your blood sugar is going upand down. if you ate properly you wouldn't want it so much. the more sugar you eat, the more you need. Come on you can do it. When you cut all the rubbish food out you'll be amazed at the results and how easy it was. You just need will power. Good luck

You do not say where you live. In the UK many GP surgeries now run weight management programmes- I run one where I work.
People come to my clinic and I see them individually. I get them to keep a food diary for a few days recording what they eat.I also get them to think about the reasons they want to lose weight and the advantages and disadvantages of losing weight- for example an advantage might be that you feel fitter but a disadvantage is that you lose the freedom to eat what you want.
Because the programe is individualised we would try to suggest a way of eating that fits your lifestyle and tastes. In other words we don't tell you what to eat just what are healthy and unhealthy options.
If you don't like veg what about fruit?
You might feel out of control but with help and support you could make small steps to get control back.

You know what helped me? simple as that: 3 times a day before your meal drink 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegear dilluted in a glass of apple juice and buy yorself chromium picolinate from health store and take as directed.
My cravings stopped after two days, and boy ... my weight started coming off quickly!
Honestly, I would recommend it to anybody. And what other good things come from the cider vinegear!!! Just drink it through a straw as the acid is very bad for your teeth.

when you crave sweet things, eat a yoghurt,or some fruit, a low calorie chocolate drink,or the range from go ahead,or a health bar made with muesli or grains, with honey, there are a whole range of healthier options, jaffa cakes are good occasionally being low in fat,and calories, jelly is not to bad occasionally, sweet things can be addictive, you need to gradually cut out bad sweet stuff and replace it with healthier options.

if you are depressed a lot then see a psychiatrist. Depression leads to abusing food...Abusing food leads to getting fat...Getting fat means being unhealthy...Unhealthy people usually end up dying younger. If you cannot control your eating, you might have repressed somethings that need to get out. A psychiatrist can help...It may not be that you just can't control your eating...It may be that you can't take full control of your life. Hope this helps...

I have always thought that cravings was our body's way of telling us that something is missing in our diet. Starch is just another form of sugar. I take a supplement called Satiete it has helped me to curb my desire for sweets. It has a combination of vitamin B1,B2, B6,B12, folic acid, and magnesium.
