How could anyone be rude in respose to a plea such as yours?
It sounds to me like you are a real Christian expressing her Love as God wants.
It also sounds as if you are more concerned about your boyfriend than he is about himself.

A short time ago I was asking myself where I could find the answers. Well, there are millions of books, cds, etc out there that discuss religion...even college degrees are available, and yes the Internet but somehow I felt there were too many answers to too many questions.

What did I do? I don't really know why but I contacted the closest Catholic Church. No specific reason...just seemed to be the right thing to do...they are after all the oldest Christian church.

The process to become a Catholic takes about nine months of Inquiry and study (very, very, easy study...with very little reading) The first stage of this process is called the period of Inquiry which is the time that you learn about the Church and the Catholic beliefs...without any obligation except a a couple of hours a week. If you chose to move on and become a Catholic Christian then it continues further but it is solely your choice.

Now, how did I decide? I asked lot's of questions, checked the answers, and made a pest of myself. It didn't take me long to decide that the Catholics had it right. And they can backup their positions. They even allow you to have fun.

Deciding to check it out is the first step. Go see a priest or a minister. I think the Catholic church has got it right...but he'll have to decide.

Finally, pray..pray, like his soul depended on it!

A final note: comparing one religion against others is not practical. Too many religions and too much to compare. Once you decide to find God, which is the first step, he'll help with the rest.

Shorty Baby, I am reluctant to suggest that you turn to anything other than the bible to point your boyfriend in the right direction. As you can see from the posts there are so many different interpertations on what is truth and what is not.

If he will not read the bible for himself, can I suggest that you continue to study it and share what you learn with him? Another suggestion would be the bible on CD.

Also, consider a good bible based church that has a young couples program. Last, check out this web site... there are some awesome resources there: http://www.reunionchurch.org/

May God bless you both...

If you're looking for a church to follow it's best to start by learning a little history. The first and only church for 1500 years was the Catholic church. It began when Jesus gave Peter, his disciple, the "keys to the kingdom", and the authority to lead the other disciples (and his church) in his absence.

All other churches, otherwise know as "protestant churches" began when they protested against abuses they saw in the catholic church. The proper thing to do would have been to fix the problems, instead these protesters started their own church. These protesters even went so far as to alter the bible, taking out any books or parts they didn't like!

Once that started, people go the idea that if they don't like what a church teaches, they can start their own. But you know what? God is what he is. You can't change him, and you can't change truth. And only Jesus can start a church.

Hope this helps.

Do a Google search on "religion comparison".
I found a comparison chart here: http://www.religionfacts.com/big_religion_chart.htm

For an online easy read online bible try thr Blue Letter Bible.
http://www.blueletterbible.org/
There are various translations (NLT, NIV) available.
I'd start in the New Testament book of John.
Maybe Galatians after that...

Movies?
Perhaps Matthew chapter 26 and 27 followed by the movie Passion of the Christ.

Since Christianity is a relationship with God not a set of religious rules like all the others, you will want to focus on getting to know Jesus. Jesus said, "I AM the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me." He proved these words by raising himself from the dead... no other leader of a religious faith did that. There are two good movies you could rent or borrow from a local library... "Jesus of Nazareth" and "The Jesus Film." Both are well done and present the Biblical truth about Jesus. They will be a great way to talk with your boyfriend about being a Christian. You're on the right track pursuing Christianity. All other religions are man's attempt to reach God. Only in Christianity do you find God reaching down to man to meet our greatest need. There is only one name under heaven that will give us the peace that our soul seeks... that name is Jesus. Blessings on you and your boyfriend!

Take it a step at a time. Pray for him regularly. find a good and short daily devotional and see if he will read it with you once a day, or on his own. See if he will go to a good Bible believing church where he can hear a little bit at a time, and develop friendships with people who know the Bible and live it. Don't Bible thump him, but just seek to live a godly life so he can see what it is all about. It will all come together in its time. If he is going to come to God, God will protect him until he does.
Here is a couple of online devotions and they can be bought in book form.

You can get him a bible at a Christian bookstore that reads like a magazine so he won't be so overwhelmed. There is also a book called "Gate Breakers" that tells about all the major religions and how they differ from the Bible. It is a great question and answer book that you can do together.

You want an Honest answer. The only thing He needs to know
John 3-16---Romans 10:9&10.So simple a baby can understand.

Those that come to God,must believe in God & He is a Rewarder of those that dillengtley seek Him.

He will not find God by comparing Him with other gods (idols)
The Bible is the only "Book" He needs. Those that surrender to God thru Jesus love to read God"s Word.

A word of Caution don"t yoke" your self to a unbeliever.

When you are older---things will be a lot easier for you to understand....Talk to a pastor and he will give you information on Salvation.....Boyfriend could read a little of the New Testament and then watch The Passion of Christ....It's a love story put in movie form....

He can compare the Bible to creation to see if they match;same with other text;explain to him the universe is made to reflect God's characteristics and He can compare what the Bible and others say and see if that same thing can be found in creation

Ex:God has three parts;elements have three parts
God does not like to go back;space is friction less.
ect.ect.ect.

Oh and He can always use an online bible if He wants.
