Based on I.Q. tests given to members of different professions, pastors scored the lowest. The intelligence of some pastors is equivalent to that of an adult monkey, or a 3 year old child. Some border on retardation.

To be a doctor you only have to understan the human body, to be a pastor you have to understand God. You better go for the doctor.

You might want to back up such an inflammatory claim, with some evidence. The Test results, for instance. Otherwise it only presents itself as verbal diarrhea.

What I can tell you from intimate knowledge of the discipline of pastorship, is that it requires a good general feeling for people and the many life problems which people experience. A well rounded personality helps. There is simply such a plethora of situations surrounding the human experience, that to be an effective counsellor ( a role which pastors often find themselves playing), an understanding of much of the world around us becomes a valuable asset.
Intelligence helps. As with many disciplines, there are likely to be those in ministry who are not well adapted .And there are likely to be pastors who score lower in ( sometimes highly questionable) I.Q. tests.

Certainly, fully understanding the Bible is more difficult than say, a full grasp of many university level subjects.

First of all, I personally don't think your truthful about the i.q. test you are talking about, and second, it takes more than book smarts to be a pastor. Pastors only have to learn one book backwards and forwards and a good one needs to be a man of God. There are different tests that you won't understand for that. Knowing what an atom is, how to solve math problems, and knowing who the 18th president is are not criteria to being a great pastor. As long as they love God and the people they are supposed to lead, that's all that's important. By the way the pastors at my church are very intelligent.
