II Corinthians 8:20 & 21
"For we are on our guard, intending that no one should find anything for which to blame us in regard to our administration of this large contribution. For we take thought beforehand and aim to be honest and absolutely above suspicion, not only in the sight of the Lord but also in the sight of men."
If your relationship with Christ is first in your life, then shouldn't you be witnessing, praying, or reading the word on your lunch break?

Do you have something else to do? I know on my last job, I didn't have enough work to keep me busy, and there were days and weeks at a time that I had nothing to do but surf the internet or socialize with coworkers. I didn't feel good about it, but what are you gonna do in that situation? It was very much like being in captivity on that job. It was one of the major reasons why I ended up leaving it.

Why do you ask for a christian only opinion? it's clearly a moral issue that applies to many people other than christians.
FOCUS: No, you shouldn't. Your company is paying you to do a job, and ultimately better the company; as such that's what you should spend 100% of your work time doing.

they seem to be a employer and you artwork for them. They pay for that internet get entry to and it truly is in all probability not much less high priced, they are able to dam regardless of the heck they wanna block. The day you pony up the money to pay on your businesses internet connection is the day you may make certain WHAT sites all of us is permitted to make certain. probability is they're making use of websense or another filtering technologies, and so on.. yet yah..what the 1st dude pronounced, in case you relatively need to browse non-artwork appropriate stuff on artwork's dime, then you definately could discover some thank you to proxy outta there (via way of an SSH-tunnel, or another proxy and so on..) this is presented you have adminstrative get entry to on your employer issued laptop and so on. BTW FWIW, there have been situations the place all of us is making use of "artwork" desktops to do non-artwork issues, and individuals getting fired for pronounced strikes. in case you get fired for this, you're up sh*t creek w/o a paddle and on occasion, if your strikes brought about loss of information and so on..on your laptop or different's laptop with the aid of trojan, spyway/malware and so on..you would be held answerable for punitive damages..

There are many verses about being a good employee.
I would just email your questions and answers to your boss. If he answers your questions, I bet you will know if you should be surfing or not...

I am atheist and although I am on company time, I am concerned that I am not being entirely productive. This concern is not to be confused with guilt.

You're assuming we're all at work and you're still using your company's computer and network resources to surf.
Don't be so judgmental.
