No, just like in people, there is no cure for diabetes. My parents had a diabetic dog that had to get insulin shots.

Once diabetes has developed in a dog, it is usually for life.
There are many dogs who have lived with diabetes for 8 years plus.
As with humans, diabetes can be managed with insulin, diet and exercise.
It is not a death sentence.

Not likely. Once a dog is diagnosed with diabetes, it's usually forever. Cats have a tendency to convert back to non-diabetic, but it's not documented as much with dogs. Hope this helps.

No one, including animals, "gets over" diabetes. It's something you have to live with for a lifetime. Make sure it is taken to a vet and has appropriate medication, diet, and exercise.

No...I'm sorry. You can help the dog with it's diet by refusing to give it any sugars, chocolates, starchy foods, and also give it a healthy regiment of exorcise. This should reduce the diseases advancement and quite possibly lower the the destruction of the disease. I wish you and your dog well.
