I don't think so. You wouldn't even qualify for the draft should that come about.

The enlistment age is 42 now, BUT because you are prior service your years spent in the military can be deducted from your age. So if you served 8 years in and are 49, to the military you are technically 41. Id contact a recruiter for the exact details. Good Luck to you.

Yes, if your age minus your TAFMS is 34 or less.
Age: 49
TAFMS: 17 years
Diff: 32 - eligible
Age: 42
TAFMS: 5 years
Diff: 37 - not eligible
This presumes that there are prior service openings in your skill and you meet all other eligibility criteria.
If you are retired you are subject to recall up to age 55. There were some voluntary activations of retired folks in the early days in Afghanistan and Iraq. Quite a few retirees were activated (voluntary and involuntary) for the First Gulf War.

Since you are prior service the rules are different. Depending on what you did in the Army and how long you were in you could certainly get back in. The rules about age are pretty much only for initial enlistees. You really need to get in touch with a recruiter to find out though.

Your age minus you total active time only matters if you are required to to go basic training or boot camp. If you want to re-join the Army your age probably doesn't matter, but your health does. You'll need to see a recruiter for the latest since the minute specifics change often.

I won't say it is impossible, but probably very unlikely. What rank were you discharged at? Are you in the same shape you were in at that time? All questions that would be needed to be answered before a decision were made. Like I said, I don't think so, but never say never.

It depends on how long you were on active duty. I believe that if you can finish 20 years by age 55 you will be ok. The age thing might have changed and could even be older now.

if you have over seven years of service, only the Army, Army Reserve, and National Guard can reenlist since your "military" age would be under 42.
