Well it is dishonest isn't it ?

Islam claims Christ as one of it's prophets but totally refuses to accept what He taught or did !

Then He is not a prophet of Islam is He ?

They also claim the Bible as part of revelation ending with their Koran but then deny the Bible by saying it has been corrupted ! ! !

They are not honest are they ?

If they denied the Bible and Christ outright then at least you could have more respect for them.

Islam cannot be true. The quran has never been introduced to me here in America, and there is no way that their god could be dumb enough to not give everybody his word. Don't they believe that anybody that isn't a follower of the quran is going to hell? Well how could they, if they never had a motive to read the Quran, especially if they were raised as Christians? The same is for them, they are raised muslim and they never care to read the bible because they solidly believe in their religion. I am atheist, and I can tell you that the main problem with religion is faith, it has no reason, no logic, and no proof, and keeps people from leaving religion behind.

Living in the UK we are supposed to be accepting of everyone. A fair and just country that accepts everyone without question or racism. Whilst I am an atheist, I accept that just as I find it hard to believe in a God, those theists find it just as impossible to conceive living life without God. My parents have always said "let people do what they want as long as they're not huring anyone", which is why whislt I am not religious, I accept those that are.
Islam, however is very different. They preach peace yet practice violence. They move here (to the UK and America) for a better life, take advantage of our state schools and National Health Service, our benefits and take the jobs, yet still walk around in all their garb saying how they hate our culture and our wa of life. Hate it so much go back, thats what I say.
At first I pitied those innocents, the women and children and Iraq etc, but now it is evident that those women would be out with the machine guns if they were male, those children when they grow up will shoot us and become terrorists, so I have lost any sympathy I felt. It really hit home when not so long ago I saw a news article about a man working as a butcher in Manchester moved here from Iraq a practising Muslim and on the BBC News absolutely slayed the west and our culture and way of life calling the west 'evil'. Ha! Yet he CHOSE to move here.
The problem is that Islam brainwashes its followers. It preaches matyrdom and the highest honour is dying for 'Allah'.
We must remember that in countries such as Iran, Iraq etc the people are incredibly poor, and so will believe whatever they are told as they have no other education. Their TV, Newspapers, parents and schools teach them the west is evil and to die for ones God, and so thats what they believe.
I think it is an evil, brainwashing religion and one the UK and US should not be a part of. We have no need to be in Iraq.Just let them all blow themselves up and many of the worlds problems will disappear.

Actually all religions lead human to the right path.
It's just some people out there had mistaken some aspect of Islam.
For example, "Jihad" in Malay Language.
It encourages the Muslims to fight for the rights of Islam at a really desperate time when nothing else can be done but with calm and peaceful methods.
It's been mistaken for terrorism world wide because of wrong reports written by many medias.
Islamic history may not be as long as Christianity, but at least in my opinion, all religions do not encourage people to do bad things.
By the way, I'm a Buddhist.

My opinion about religion Islam is neutral. For me i don't really blame them on what they had done. But they really made a mess on the earth towards peacefullness. Actually the religion is not supposed to be blamed but the fanatic devotees that misunderstood the concept of the teaching. They misinterpreted. They are supposed to be blamed because they are the black sheeps undercover. Islam is actually a good teaching as the other teachings do. They teach good things and maintains the peace. But when its devotees misunderstood the teaching they produced wrong output. "JIHAD" is what they always carry with themselves. "JIHAD" simply means serve the god in everything that they do. But they way they perform it is wrong and at the wrong time and situation and objects. That is why havoc occurs and fights exist. Actaully god never ask to create a situation of fight by using His name but to maintain peace by His name. In any situations that occur, it is taught that we suppose to stay cool at our side and perform good way to keep the peace. We don't care whose fault. Yours or mine but the problem has to be settled down in a peace and sistematic way. No fights and blood. That is the real teaching. "JIHAD" only supposed to be used when we are performing something good and expect people to see the goodness but this does not mean we can pretend to be good. Pretending to be good is wrong. This also doesn't mean that we expect others to praise our religion and expect to be popular. It is supposed to be neutral, that is good, which means it is not forcing others to believe Islam or to practice. Other people would do so (believe) when their inner heart were touched by the goodness of the religion. Just to simplify that fighting is not the solution and it is wrong to carry JIHAD in that way. It should be the other way round. The conclusion, Islam has nothing wrong. It is also a good religion, but all the weakness lie upon on the devotees reactions toward the matter. The reaction of the devotees has made a vast changes on Islam, the most important the impact and perception from the global. I hope you understand and all the best for you! Take care!

My true opinion is that Mo thought he had a good thing going and the Arab tribes, hungry for some guidance, accepted it. The Qu'ran was written over 600 years after the Resurrection of Jesus the Christ. It "borrowed" and twisted and out right lies about passages in the Old and New Testaments. While atheists claim the Bible is a work of fiction, the Qu' ran is a work of plagiarism and deceit (Much like the book "A Million Little Pieces'). The prophecies of the Old and New Testaments have been fulfilled, accurately, by over 80%. Nothing in the Qu'ran has happened, except them talking with satan. YBIC

I respect it when it is adhered to in a friendly non-invasive manner. Lots of positives about the faith and on some issues makes more sense to me than say christianity.

I have problems with any religion that forces itself on people. Central to some versions is the notion that mosque and state are to be integrated. I have problems with that. I have major problems with muslim laws that in some countries such as:
0) discrimination of other religious groups for example by taxing them more or by have wierd laws like the "blood money law".
1) ban on apostacy. Religion should be personal choice and likewise with conversion one way or another.
2) mandatory head coverings. I have no problems with voluntary ones except mask whole face where it is not convenient.
3) forced conversions in any form by anybody. Muslims are not only people who've done this over centuries. Christians have as well.
4) Stoning of rape victims for "adultery".
5) family interference in peeoples marital choices.

Some of the above are NOT exclusive to radical Islam.

there are many paths to god with many names for god.islam like judiasm, christianity derive from abraham the patriarch.these religions recognize a one true creator, allah, adonai, god the father as the only god.there are prophets, muhammed being islams prophet and according to islam the last prophet, although there is the idea of the mahdi, which will be the last prophet, for some muslims.like all religions islam has been subjected to the hand of man, hence the splits and schisms inherent in all man controlled religion.as a path to god i cannot say i could follow the teachings of the koran, however i believe that the world prejudges islam purely on the basis of history and as we tend to hate or revile all things we do not agree with at the deepest level of our conditioned western precept of spirituality i would say each to his own and as above so below.allah akbar inshallah, shalom, peace be with you.

Shalom Sea Boy,

Islam like any of other religion of this world has turned against its first principle, which was for man to begin his spiritual journey to the within. When anything becomes institutionalized it quickly becomes corrupted and the purpose of it is usually buried underneath man made rituals and traditions. Islam originally was a means to replace the corrupted pagan Christianity that Roman emperor Constantine created(Which is the Christianity today) but it too became corrupted by men.

The religion itself like all other religions serve as a foundation for the seeker to move on to deeper mysteries of God, but it can also serve as a stumbling block to those who continue to worship the literal letter of it. Also to note, one thing that makes Islam a dangerous religion is the corruption made by men that God wants them to kill. This should be a obvious implication of man made corruption. But why would anyone do this? Simple, to control the masses. Just as Constantine did with Christianity, to keep them in a perpetual state of ignorance. In order to put a stop to the mass killing over in the middle east Islams, Christians and Jews alike must come to the realization that their scriptures are allegorical and not literal. Will this ever happen? Probably to late for that, change will occur but it will be forced upon them.

Peace

Aza

I first read the Qu'ran about 12 years ago. I liked it well enough. I've had Muslim friends for about 10 years as well - and they're very nice people.

After the attacks on 9/11, I felt very badly about how other Americans treated Muslims. I know that the religion isn't hateful like that and the stereotyping was so wrong.

Having said that, since I started coming to this forum, my opinion of Mulsims has gone downhill. With a few exceptions they have been very intollerant, unwilling to enter into conversation and bordering on abusive. Not *all* Muslims, but the majority I've run across. It's been suprising and sad to me.
