Me and my son are coming to CA in May (he is going to study there) but we don't have any friends there and need somebody to help us while we settle down. We would like to meet somebody who will allow us to stay in his/her place for a few days while we rent an apartment or maybe somebody who will rent out two rooms to us. We are nice normal people, healthy and optimistic, my son is 17, we don't smoke. Thank you. Larisa

Honey, I don't think strangers are going to let you and your son stay with them. I think your best - and safest - bet would be to find a motel to stay out that rents rooms by the week so you can get a great deal at a minimal price. Plus if you leave early, they may pro rate the room so you can get a little cash back. Good luck!

Best to check with computer information from town you are moving to...most have newspapers on the web. Find the category for rental agencies and correspond with them to help you rent a place. Most people won't want to take in someone who they don't know, because of the way the world has changed. Sadly, the violence and intolerance today affects all of us, even if we are wonderful people. Just get a hotel room set up...that will most likely be mch safer and more comfy for yall.
