It's sickening with all the fake people on the internet, I guess they don't have a life and the internet is a way for them to have one (that they make up) Years ago I fell for one of these, I met her on a singles site, we chatted we talked on the phone for a couple years, we made plans to meet (although we were about 800 miles apart) but then things started getting wierd and not making sense, she tells me the name she originally gave me was not her real name, she said she was divorced but I see posted on here that she says she's married and other posts say she's divorced, she gave me her address which she turned around 2 years later and said thats not where she lives, she said her age was 26 (several years ago) but now I see her posting on here saying she's 25 and married another says she's 23 and was dating a 52 year old I haven't talked to her for a couple years now and I just ran across here posts on here and noticed she still up to her same ol tricks.

LOL! I'm still reading some of her posts, one says she is getting married in May, another says she has a boyfriend, another says she is married, another says she is divorced, another says she's in a long distance relationship, she needs to post one saying she needs a life!

It is more amusing to me than anything else. I have long given up on trying to figure out why people do stupid things...
Personally, I take everything people say online with caution. Nearly everyone bullsh!ts in one form or another. I suppose its a way to fill the emptiness in their real world lives or an attempt to escape reality. As long as they don't hurt anybody else....

That sounds terrible I'm so sorry you got played like that. I think though in the future if you do get to know some on on the Internet make sure they live more local that way you can meet them in person and see what there really like. There are a lot of people out there that are real and who really want to meet someone. Good luck in you future endeavors.

Yes, I wish there was a way to charge those people for fraud and sue for emotinal harm.

My friend has been corresponding with a guy who said he was a 26 year old pilot in the war and wanted to marry her for three years. She just found out that he's 72 and married.

She wasted 3 years of her life on that loser.

And chances are she is much younger than that. IMO, I think it's dangerous to meet people on the Internet to form a relationship with in the first place. And secondly, why wouldn't they lie? A lot of the people have no intentions of setting up house with someone.

Luckily, I have a real life outside the Internet and the fake people on line are nothing but background noise, I don't even notice.
