I live in the Richmond, Virginia area and I haven't been able to locate either. I want to try to find one in person before searching online - has anyone purchased either of these cameras in that area?

I know this doesn't directly answer your question but I have purchased a Holga 120N from BHphotovideo.com and was extremely satisfied with their speed, price, and condition of the product. Haven't had any problems with the camera since I bought it, and, as far as I know, these are simply brand new remakes of the original, so no worries as to condition. I would also recommend them if you need to purchase 120 size film, though it may be best to find a local shop for that.

Cheers and good luck with a great hobby!

I am certainly not the one to answer since I own a rather large clunky Nikon. Trendy, as in latest fashions? I never regarded cameras as fashionable. A few years ago I saw young people in a few different stores pick out tiny, slim cameras. Maybe that's trendy. It would be nice to know what is the most you plan to spend. Do you want subcompact with different colors to choose from? Not the way I would choose a camera.
