I do 50 crunches a day and that is all that is necessary. You can not do 100 crunches a a day unless you have been doing them for a while and are in great physical shape. A properly formed crunch is very difficult. Its all in the proper form rather than the quantity.

Yes, crunches work. I have a routine of 5 different types of crunches I do 5 days a week. Each type I do 2 sets of 25. So about 250 crunches (sometimes more to get a really good burn).

I do 3 sets of 20 of these types of ab work-outs:
~sit-ups
~bicycle crunches
~normal crunches
~head-to-straight-legs crunches
Works for me!
Right before you go to the beach or somewhere where people see your chest, do these and you will have nicer abs for up to 2 hours!

I did crunches for a long time with no results whatsoever, and I have a low body fat percentage. Now I do full sit-ups and sit-ups on an incline bench, plus bicycle kicks, and I have a six-pack. Crunches don't work. (By the way I don't have neck problems either. Sit-ups are tried and true and have worked for years! They won't injure you if you do them correctly)

Before the babies, Brit. Spears used to do 1000 crunches, 5x a week. She had a gorgeous stomach.

I do 3 sets of 15 at the gym twice a week(on a cruch machine) when I do my upper body workout. Doesn't sound like much, but it works for me!

Pilates-based work does absolute WONDERS for your stomach, as it works every fibre (not just the rectus abs on your front), and the variety of exercises stop you from dying in pain... and boredom

they work if you do them right, using your stomach muscles....if you use your back (like many people do), you'll end up HATING crunches, so pay attention, focus on the area you are working on, and enjoy!
