Do you really, really , really want a 16 year committment? That's how long dogs live.

Are you really, really, really ready to walk it twice a day, every day for the next 16 years? Rain or Shine?

Are you really, really, really able to afford food, vet bills, and all the other costs associated with dog ownership?

Owning a dog shouldn't be because you just really , really, really want one.

It'll change your life and lifestyle. Think hard about it before you make a decision you have to live with for 16 years.

Good luck.

Pugs are small dogs, so you're environment should not affect the dogs need for space or exorcise. Just be sure to give the wee thing a good walk everyday and all should be well. The upside is that dogs are territorial so a small living arrangement will apt for a small dog. This way he/she does not have to overwork it's territory. Less stress when the dog goes about making sure all is right with it's territory.
Enjoy. Dogs are more faithful than most spouses! Not that they are better, just that the wee creatures are the most forgiving animals I know of.

A pug is a small-to-medium size dog so the garden shouldn't be a problem. Pugs can live quite happily in a flat as long as you take them out for "their business." They shouldn't be left out all the time, anyway, because they are smooth haired dogs and can get cold! As a housedog they are ideal; gentle, clean and shed very little. The only drawback to that sweet "pug" face is that they snore quite loudly!

Dogs live in apartments with no yards. The question to you is are you willing to walk and mentally exercise your dog at least twice a day, every day? Turning the dog into the small garden is not a walk or mental exercise. Fortunately for small dogs a walk of a 1/2 mile twice a day will probably be sufficient.

You need to take it for daily walks at least 30 minutes a day. Check a book called Dog Whisperer by Cesar Millan or watch his show on the National Geographic Channel for more information before you go get one. And consider getting one from a rescue instead of puppy adult dogs can be trained and you won't have to go through the chewing stages of puppyhood.

The size of house or garden are not a problem. I lived in a flat with no garden and had a home check with the RSPCA and they had no problem with it as i was prepared and aware of the walking and exercise a dog needs.
Just be prepared for long walks and it won't be a problem

It strikes me that Pugs need little exercise. All dogs need attention though, so time and effort from you will result in a corresponding amount of happiness for the dog.

As long as you are willing to take your pug on half hour to hour walks once to three times daily (depending on your particular pugs energy needs) he/she will adjust to your small house/garden.
