The bus stop is used during the day by normal bus travellers but when it starts getting dark it turns in to a local hanging around place for youths who use it as shelter and light. But they are loud and have caused some minor damaged and some nights keep us awake untill the early hours. I cannot confront them or ask them to be quiet or move on as they will no doubt turn on me or my house !! What can i do?? This problem is shared by my neighbours around the bus stop as well .

YOU CAN STOP THEM THROUGH THE APPLIANCE OF SCIENCE

"The Mosquito™ ultrasonic teenage deterrent is the solution to the eternal problem of unwanted gatherings of youths and teenagers in shopping malls, around shops and anywhere else they are causing problems. The presence of these teenagers discourages genuine shoppers and customers’ from coming into your shop, affecting your turnover and profits. Anti social behavior has become the biggest threat to private property over the last decade and there has been no effective deterrent until now. "

Teenagers pick up different wave frequencies than adults. They say it really works

"With an effective range of between fifteen and twenty meters Compound Security Systems’ field trials have shown that teenagers are acutely aware of the Mosquito and usually move away from the area within an average of 8- 10 minutes. The system is completely harmless even with long term use. The Times newspaper in England reports that the device was first used at a Spar shop in Barry, South Wales, where the owner Robert Gough was enthusiastic about the device's success in driving away the local youths. "Either someone has come along and wiped them off the face of the earth, or it's working" he is quoted as saying. Since then, there have been literally hundreds of successful reports not only from police and local authorities, but also from business owners".

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.

According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.

Tell the police and if they don't do anything try to video tape it several nights (the bus shelter, that is) and then go to your local news station and tell them your story so they can broadcast it over the nightly news and explain to the public where there tax dollars are going to the police that aren't doing their job at night. And make sure you document your complaints and also have a petition from your neighbors. *Also if something happens out there one night, in the long run it will be the police departments fault for not taking care of the problem to begin with. Especially if you have documentation and proof.

i suggest that you phone the police, but they wont be able to do much unless the kids are breaking the law- blabla. another suggestion is to move, although this is expensive and unecessary if the house you live in is perfect for all your needs. the last suggestion i have is for you and your neighbours to write to your council and petition to get it taken away, or moved to an area that will distrupt you and your neighbours less. if you are worried about the security of you and your family, i know its expensive, but i would install a security camera, which is disguised as a light or hidden so they cannot see it and have it pointing at the front door, record it day and night and if anything happens you have evidence. good luck, hope this helps a little.

They are things that can only be discovered after hundreds and hundreds of trials. And of course, strict restriction needs to be in place. However, because the basis of science is always changing due to new discoveries, we need to also have sympathy to the drug company as well. They are not miracle makers, they only try to make profits by selling something that they "think" might help other people. Imagine the world without antibiotics and other medication, how many people would have to die? If we agree that science can be changed, the drug company might not have an excuse of increasing medication prices because of law suit. Also if we look at any other area that has used the socialist system it has bogged down and failed to live up to its Utopian promise. No system is perfect but open and free market is the best out there.

If you each go to the police station separately and raise your concerns repeatedly you're more likely to get a result. Hopefully the police won't like having several complaints about one specific problem being reported and will have a look into it.
Don't know where you live but there is now a hotline you can ring (dial 101) specifically concerning antisocial behaviour. I think it may only be in the Leicestershire area at the moment though.

Hope you get it sorted. We've been in a similar situation and it nearly drove me up the wall.

if no joy from the police as usual? i would get in toutch with the council, inform them of the problem, and if possible could the bus stop be relocated , or if theres one on the other side of the street ask about this one being took down, and the other one be converted to a double sided stop. problems like this dont arise on some estates near me,where they have hail and ride systems in place. that is where there are no bus stops, you just put out your hand, anywhere along the route and the bus will stop? eliviates all the hassle. get a petition together, present it with some of my options,it wouldnt go a miss to get in toutch with passenger transport executives, inform them of the problem as well.

You can call your local police department ( not 911) and let them know of the problems you and your neighbors are having and ask them if they can do some patrolling in the hours you are having problems and ask the kids to leave. If the police can patrol for a week or so most likely the kids will stop hanging out there and go somewhere else. Unfortunately the will most likely become someone Else's problem.

Dont know were you live, but any fixed structure placed outside a persons home that is libel to cause an inconvenience to them must be notified by the the people planning to put it there , its not a bad idea to go to your local council find out to see who allowed it to be put there in the first place, secondly see your local councillor inform him of the problem if all else fails seek legal council, city councils hate legal confrontation.

And as you well know, the police won't be interested untill you do something to protect yourself then they'll be down on you like a ton of bricks. Heard of a device used by a local authority recently to specifically address this kind of problem. It emits a very high frequency sound which is horrible to teenagers but cannot be heard by anyone over the age of about 20. My son says it is impossible to be near but I can hear nothing. Sorry but I don't have a reference but I think it was on BBC news website.
