No, your sound card controls all of that and Windows provides a basic mic driver for it. You may have to configure it thru the control panel under Sounds and Audio Icon.

No, if your sound driver is installed and you have sound on your PC all you have to do is connect the mic. As far as using the mic, you may have to set the recording properties to the mic!

No, I didn't. Just plugged it in to the specified area (color coded)in the back of the CPU.
