Actually if you add up all those killed in the wars and ideological conflicts of the 20th century I think you will find it outweighs people killed in religious wars or over religious ideas.

Religion may well be responsible for a lot of suffering but it is not responsible for all suffering and you do humanity a disservice to imply that it is.

That is the sad truth, but have you ever thought that the so-called Christians were not Christian.

The Pope did many wrong things including killing Protestant Christians, Jews and non-believers in the Crusades. The Pope had men killed for translating the Bible into English. The Catholic Church has had some sorry Popes who would do anything to get people to convert to Catholicism and get money for the church. Today, we have Prosperity Religion among Protestants also and their love for money far exceeds their love for Christ. Some of today's churches are so big that they will almost do anything to keep the light bill paid.

Jesus said that they will shout Lord, Lord, and say I cast out demons in your name and I did this in your name. And Jesus said that He would say - I NEVER KNEW YOU, depart from Me you workers of iniquity.

These so-called christians have been a stumbling block to non-believers and headed up their Synogogues of Satan and fooled innocent baby believers. One of the reasons Apostle Paul said to mature in your knowledge of God so we can discern between good and evil. A good man once said, "There are only 2 religions, Man and God.

Not people following a religion that seeks peace.

Greed. Politicians wanting the real estate and resources of another country.

Politicians wanting to split their territory away from the existing country.

In my opinion there are twom reason that are tied for first (yes even above religion) they are greed and the lack of understanding. Greed for money, land fame cause people to kill, torture and do creul things even to their own children. The lack of understanding one another leads man to kill over stupid things such as spiritual beleifs, race and social status. Why is man the only animals that has these problems? When will we evolve a little?
