I've been going the the gym 3 times a week for about 4 weeks and I have seen NO results. I workout for an hour or more and alternate cardio and weightlifting. I know if I develop muscle I won't loose weight but I havn't seen any difference in my body at all and I weigh the same. I'm definitely giving myself a challenge since I wake up the next day and can hardly walk or open doors i'm so sore. I have to give my body a break before I can go back. I've been needing less and less of a break as time goes on which means I can go to the gym more often. Everyone sees results at their own rate but when do you think i'll start to notice a difference?

You should be seeing results after a month... The first set of gains comes quickly to gym newbies as their body is being exposed to strenuous exercise for the first time.

Firstly, try to be doing both weights and cardio on the same day, not alternating. Now of course if you are too sore from weights, but still want to work out, it is perfectly ok just to go in and for some cardio.

How is your diet?

Bottom line is if your exercise routine is not producing for you, you gotta change it. Consider splurging the cash for one or two sessions with a personal trainer. The quality of education you will receive from that will be great, and set you on the path to success. If not, read read read! Changing your body is no easy task, and many people think they can just go in, throw some weights around and wait to be asked to appear in magazines. You gotta learn all you can, and develop what works best for you

Good luck!

don't monitor your actual weight. if you are working out this much, chances are a lot of the fat is being replaced with muscle, which weighs more than fat! And you have on ly been at it for a month...I know that seems like forever, but it is actually a very short time. Stick with it and you will start seeing results soon. You also need to be eating healthy...that will make a HUGE difference.

Between now and two months. You also have to realize one important factor.....you see yourself EVERYDAY and you will not notice much, if any difference than would someone who has not seen you in several days or weeks. Therefore, MEASURE yourself to determine differences. Measure waist, hips, arms, legs, etc and write them down. Keep track of a weekly record.

Just a suggestion, but take a picture, or have someone else take a picture. You might not be able to see how good you look, or changes in your body at first but if you photograph yourself you might.

You might have noticed, casue I do, when you see yourself in a photo you get that "wow, i got fat" but when you see yourself in a mirror, you don't see a change.

good luck.
